Am I the only guy with a BX having trouble getting implements to level out? I have gone back 20 pages in the archives and I don't see any notes on this issue.
Mark, no you are not. This is not a problem that only the BX has. My B2410 has the same problem despite it is a bigger unit. These tractors sit fairly low and all the lower link 3-point pins are to high on the implements--they need to be lowered. For example, my First Choice aerator works OK with my 2410 but I cannot lift it quite as high as I would like but on the BX I cannot lift it much at all--the pins need to be lower. My KK hog--same thing--here I did lower the pins. With the BX have you considered perhaps buying from a supply house a toplink and custom cutting one that is shorter or longer for those "stubborn" implements. It was only a easy job to lower the pins on my KK hog but the aerator will need some welding which I have not gotten to. A weld shop, if you do not weld, should be able to easily attach an additional length and then weld it lower. What are you having a problem with? J

Here is a thread about a BX Top Link. <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=owning&Number=185842&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1>Click Here</A>. You may want to check closed length of your top link.
Thanks for the info. I got the 'right' one with my BX22, it is 10.5 " body and 14.5" overall and it still is too long for all of my Cat. 1 implements. It was completely unusable at this lenght and required interesting methods just to get it hooked up. I finally cut it down two inches and had it professionally welded. Now it has enough 'tilt' to get the tractor and implement up a trailer ramp and still has enough threads to tilt the implements backward. I don't understand how anyone is using any BX with the standard link and standard cat 1 stuff.
When I bought my Bx, they gave me a top link for a larger tractor. When I called them, they sent me the right one overnight. I'm not sure of the lenght, but it is much shorter. However, on some implements I still use my longer top link. So keep it if you can.
There are some that will think that I shouldn’t say this but. Here it is any way. On most compact tractors (as far as I know) there is a linkage adjustment that is between the position control lever and the lift cover. This linkage can be lengthen or shortened. This linkage is the way the height is set on the lift arms. There is a catch. If you adjust the shaft out too much, the pump will go into constant pump or maybe I should say constant bypass. It is ok, as long as it isn’t to far. Maybe Cub mechanic can tell us if the BX’s are made this way.
