KillerB: Your description is what I would expect out of a tractor whether it be 5 hp or 500. The engine should have a good "hook-up" to the wheels: either the load move, the tires slip, or the engine is drastically slowed down. My engine runs almost full speed, tires don't spin, load doesn't move.
I think that only 2 of the above 3 things should happen at once. If all three are true, there is a problem.
RayH:
I'm saying that the tractor "wants" to move, but doesn't. Engine drops maybe 5% in rpm's at most, but load does not move, wheels don't spin.
Seems like a loss of power somewhere between that cute little engine and the tires. Sort leaves me thinking its the transmission (HST).
We'll find out.
