Trying to poll the audience... Couldn't find a review about the BX1800 with respect to a backhoe.
Is the 18HP sufficient to run the backhoe... I'm not planning on moving he earth but some digging an if I find a big rock I'll dig a hole next to it and pull/push it in.
I also plan remove snow eighths loader, just pushing it to the side down a long skinny driveway so not much distance.
I had a BX2230 with just a loader but that impressed me with what it could and would do so the 1800 would be enough I think for my needs. Just seeing if anybody has experience with the smaller machine with a backhoe.
Any input is hugely appreciated.

I apologize for the typos! Typed on an iPhone since I'm not near a computer and auto correct doesn't always understand what I'm typing :)

I have the BX24 which is bigger and slightly more powerfull and the BH is way more powerful than the tractor. I can easily pull my tractor into the hole. I dont know who makes a BH for the BX1800...maybe woods. I know kubota does not.

As far as a BH on a BX1800, it should have the same hydraulic pump as the higher HP BX models so it would deliver the same GPM and PSI so BH performance should be about the same. The few hundred pounds difference in weight might make a little difference but hardly measurable.

Here's an old thread by Blackmajicwomen on his BX1500 and woods BH. Good read for anyone considering adding a BH to the smaller hp BX's.

Here's a thread of mine where I compared getting a Woods BH for my BX1860 vs upgrading to a BX25. The Woods BH is the only real option for an aftermarket BH on a BX.

I reread your post. Is this a new machine that you are planning to purchase new?? If so you might be better off looking at the BX25. Bigger more HP, Reinforced frame for the BH, and its all plumber for it. I would guess that it would much cheaper too. I know that a new BX1860 list for 9600.00 without FEL and BH. A woods BH must be at least 4000.00 Just my 2 cents worth.

It is a Woods.. BH6000 is the model I believe. Woods claims it to be goof for 14-30 HP tractors. It's small with a 6' depth reach but I'm not looking to go deep... Mostly digging out a banking next to the driveway.
