BX1800 Loader - burst a hydraulic hose

Anybody ever burst a hose? I've searched these archives and I don't see this happening to anybody.

Newbie BX1800 owner here - bought it used with 320 hours on it a couple weeks ago. It came to me in excellent condition, no signs of any abuse at all. The prior owner certainly wasn't afraid to use it, but there are no bends, welds or any signs of abuse.

Anyway - I was digging around a stump yesterday and I was working it pretty hard. As I was moving the bucket back and forth, scraping at a root when it happened.

Was I definately overdoing it? Or was it possibly just weakened from many hours of loader work?

I did the same thing on my 5030 last weekend, i had the dealer fix it and now its slowly leaking after this weekend so i got to bring it back again.

You will not usually break a hose with the tractor hydraulic pump… It is more common to bust a line or hose when you hang the leading edge of the bucket while shoving and forcing the dump cylinder piston… there are no relief valves in that circuit when not using the loader control valve.
You can generate very high pressure forcing the piston to move inside the cylinder… Hope you follow what I am attempting to describe. KennyV.
