My BX2200 (similar) requires a healthy glow plug shot before it starts. But then it starts quite well.
It was touched on but not completely...how does the engine start after use and it is warmed up? If all goes well after a cold start, then I'd say don't fret about it. Ten seconds, once a day, is not going to ruin your life.
Tractors and engines seem to each have a personality of their own. My L48 doesn't have an ignition glow plug position but the glow plug light goes on for a flash and it starts immediately. The M7040 doesn't even use the glow plugs and starts immediately. As pointed out, the BX2200 requires a bit more patience.
Bit here, it is rare to have a day below freezing.
It could be old diesel but diesel lasts a long time. Just run the tractor to near empty and fill up with fresh. Don't forget to report back on what you found so we all can learn.
