I am looking at the BX22 for just personal use and wanted some feedback from people who have already gotten one. I have about 4 acres I need to finish mow. It rolls a little but is smooth and well maintained. My kids mow it with a garden tractor now - but it's about a 6 hour job. Also I need a backhoe for some fairly light trenching - water lines for a sprinkler system, power lines, pond for the wife and that sort of thing. How happy have you been with the backhoe? Also, if you have gotten a MMM, which brand have you gotten and did you get rear or side discharge? Have you put a mulching kit on the mower and did that work well? Can you mount the midmount mower and use it without taking off the backhoe? I used to have a JD 855 with a 47 backhoe if any of you BX owners are familiar with that could you compare it's performance to the BX22 backhoe. Thanks a lot.

rangerjim,

I am interested in the exact same questions you are. I have about 3 acres, mostly grass. I want the 7500, but I just can't justify the size. I think the BX2200 is a good option (probably better for grass is what I am reading), but I wish you could add a BH. Looks like the BX22 is an option (of course the most expensive too), but I don't want to buy a mini-tractor/backhoe & not really be able to utilize the backhoe due to the small size of the BH or tractor.

Would love everyone's opinion on the BX22.

I have a BX2200 and am very satisfied. I mow approx 4 acres in about 3 1/2 hours. As for the other work you want to complete, I'd rent a larger piece of equiptment to dig the pond, rent a trencher to put in sprinkler lines--- much neater job than with a backhoe.

I recently traded my BX2200 for the BX22. I've used the backhoe to remove a stubborn stump I had been trying to remove in no time. It certainly is a nice thing to have, and it sounds like you would have a lot of uses for it. No, you cannot mow with the mid mount mower with the backhoe on, but you can leave the mower on in the locked-up position. The backhoe comes on and off very easy! I don't have a mulching kit, but I do use the same Kubota bagger that fit my BX2200.
