Re: BX2200 Hoopla!
Put me down for "Just Don't Get It"!
Well Jim, as one who is still searching for a new tractor and wanting to make sure I cover every base throughly, I can tell you why I'm leaning toward a Kubota. Since my current tractor is an International and feel pretty sure I won't be buying a new IH, I feel I can at least be less bias and more subjective in my approach to this. After checking out the John Deeres, I felt that they are still lagging technology wise, and although the tractors are fine, I found myself leaning toward the NH and Kubota. New Holland has been painfully slow coming out with info on its new Boomer series, at least in the size I'm looking at(TC45D). It was James who gave me the info I wanted and just recently they have posted the specs on the TC35 to TC45 on their web site, yeah... This was a turnoff right from the get go. The new Kubota
L4610 was not on the web site for a short time, but brochures with specs were available from the dealer right away. OK, so NH doesnt have as good a marketing plan as Kubota, I can look past that especially if they make a better tractor. The TC45D is a very nice tractor now that I have seen it. The Kubota equivalent, the 4610 HST is also. The hydrostatic drive on the Kubota is the best, just try it, rev the tractor to full RPM, stick the shifter in high and ease down the HST pedal, smooth as silk, and very quiet. Go just off idle, in low, slam down the HST, no jerking, just smooth, really smooth. Try this on any other HST, and it is different, way different. The diesel on the 4610 is quieter as well, maybe its the IDI diesel of the Kubota. Until you experience the Kubota HST, I don't think you can make a fair assesment of it and it may tell you why people who test the Kubotas get hooked on them. I understand that John Deere is now overhauling its HST to make a competitor to the Kubotas. HST is where most all tractors are going, they will be building their reputations on it. If you took the Kubota diesel and HST drive and put it in the TC45D, that would be my tractor! As far as the BX???? and TC18, I'm not to familiar with those since I have no interest in them, I would pretty much consider them to be mowers since I would doubt that if they even have loaders they could lift much more then a wheelbarrow load. But I am sure that they would be really sweet mowers, maybe when my Snapper rider gives out I'll look at the TC18 and
BX2200. Hope this unravels some of the puzzlement you have about the Kubotas. Rat...
