The basic machine is the same. The 22 has a stiffened frame in the mid and rear to accomodate the included backhoe. The front end loader is also included with a 22, and an option on the 2200.

As such, the 22 is quite a bit more money, but if you include the cost of the FEL and the price for a backhoe (using aftermarket or other models as a reference, the price is attractive. This assumes that you want/need the additional accessories.

The main reason you have yet to see a 22 is that it is a new model and in high demand and short supply. I ordered my 22 in the beginning of April, and was able to get the second of the dealer's stock preorder of 5 units. I received mine in a month. When I got mine a couple of weeks ago he told me that all of the preorders were sold and he was quoting late July delivery for any new order.

BTW, the 22 is a great all around compact. You never realize how much you can do with those implements.

Oombala,

BX22 has a back hoe, same as the BX2200 as far as engine, mower, FEL, etc, the frame has been beefed up to take the hoe,. The price range I have seen on TBN is $16,000-17,000 depending on what extras you get.

BX2200 has no back hoe

If you need a back hoe and can justify the extra $$$
well then go for it.... Just a few $$ more per month!

Looking is half the fun!

I got some brochures a month ago from the Kubota dealer and have a brochure for a B21 TLB. I've been wondering if the BX22 and BX2200 were being interchangeably referrenced also.

So does the BX22 replace the BX21? How does this tractor compare to the B2710/B2910 if one wants a FEL and BH?

Pardon my ignorance - but if you get a BX22 do you give up the 3PH? Essentially is it a small backhoe? - but can no longer use a MMM or any 3PH attachments?

Would love the backhoe - but hate to give up mowing, grading, tilling, etc.

The BX22 is identical to the BX2200 except it has a subframe for the mounting of the backhoe. The loader frame is slightly different because it ties into the backhoe subframe and it has rear hydraulics. The MMM and the 3-pont hitch are the same.

To add to jrlichina's comments, the MMM and 3PT are the same, but you must remove all of the 3PT links and arms, except for the upper main lift arms, to install the BH. This makes it a bit more of a job if you are going from the BH to a 3PT attachment. Also with the BH mounted, the 3PT lift arms, which also drive the MMM lift, will only lower slightly more than half way. At that point they hit the floor pan of the BH. This means that you can not mow with the BH attached, if you were so inclined. The good news is that the BH comes off and goes on in about 5 minutes each, so the switch is an easy one. As you might expect, the BH and FEL are fully functional with the MMM mounted.
