That is pretty normal feedback for a single pump system. There is a priority valve in there for the steering somewhere that plays a part too.

We have an ag tractor with single pump and if you use the steering while trying to raise the 3 point it stops the 3 point until you are done steering. When using the loader at the same time as steering it just slows the steering down/makes it hard to turn fast.

bandit,
Because I am sorta new at posting, I let what should have been one thread that I started, split out to four threads. Thank you Gary for filling me in on this.

My problem was only a small leak definetly coming from the top seal around the shaft. The PS unit works fine other than that. I was curious if the small jolt felt in the steering, at the full top lift of the 3pt would be the pressure spike that found the weakest link in the system causing the small leak at the seal.

Regardless of this though, would adjusting the relief valve on the PS unit itself help this any? I guess my question is, what is the exact purpose of the ps unit having the adjustable PR valve?

How much would you $scare$ me?

)</font>

I have seen upgraded larger flow pumps installed on some tractors or at least thats what their ad reads. Have you or anyone else heard of this for the sub compacts? Just thinking out loud.

I have no idea but this makes me curiuos as to what the BX22 or BX23 use for the hoe. What powers the new Woods hoe? Is there a rear pto version or is there another location on the transmission for another pump?

The BX22/23 hoe has 3.5 GPM available to it. The pump has 5.5 GPM output. I just happened to ask this question of Kubota engineering just last week in reference to a project that I am working on....

I finally got the seal installed in the steering pump and so far so good. Behind the dust seal was the main seal consisting of an O-ring and small neoprene seat. The bore area where this O-ring matched up at had some trash buildup. I had a small very fine wire wheel for the dremel and buffed that out. The shaft still looked good so I gave it a quick polish.

I found out that there is timing involved. A small second internal Cardan shaft had eight splines that lined up with the main oil gearwheel. The pattern was symetrical so it would be possible to reassemble incorrectly. On dissassembly, I was able to clean the surfaces with cleaner and use a permanent marker to make alignment marks.

Now to finish spiffing the rest of the machine up. I'm hoping to trade up to a BX23 but may settle on adding the Woods hoe. The BH6000 actually has better specs than the BT600 does.
