Hi,

I think I recall reading something in the past about a bx2200 fuel gage problem...but even with the restored "search all forums" capability I just can't find the thread!

Have any of you bx1800/2200 owners had a fuel gage that is eratic? I was curious that mine stayed so close to the top for so long...man this thing gets good fuel usage I was thinking. Then I noticed it near zero, then back up, then in the middle...

Put about three gallons in at about the six hour mark...no complaints about that...all grass cutting hours at reasonable rpms...won't run max until the 50 hour mark.

But I am sure the fuel gage is not working correctly. Just wondered if this is a common thing. I did read a lot about the fuel tank leaking problems of the past [I hope the past...] but could find nothing about eartic fuel level gages...

Appreciate and info...

Hi,
I am a first time poster here. I recently got my BX22 and have used it now for about 16 hours. And to think I just got it 5 days ago! I have been doing some landscaping as well as mowing the "lawn" (weeds) around the house. I have about 4 acres and mowed it all and started some earth moving with the front end loader. I noticed a similar problem with my fuel gage. It read full for the longest time and I felt good about my investment. Then it slowly dropped to 1/2 and ran out of fuel. Then I was upset because the manual warns against letting it run out. I was planning on calling the dealer on monday to find out what to do. I don't know if this helps.

Mine seems ok

Its a BX2200. Full when delivered. I ran it 16 hours mostly doing loader and dirt leveling, it was down near "E", and I put in 4 gallons to fill it.

Wasn't eratic on me that I could tell.

Good luck.

On serial numbers, I'm confused. My BX2200 is 201XX (where XX are other numbers--not sure that anyone could do anything with my real numbers, but don't want to chance it.) Mine was delivered in late June 03. So how many have been made?

Henro,
Was this it........?
Faulty BX Fuel gauge

Jerry,

Not sure if that was it or not...but it sure is a great help that you pointed us at this one.

Still...you would think after two years Kubota would have made it right... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'm sure my dealer will make it right, but thanks to kubmech I now have a service bulletin number to refer them too worst case...

Thanks!

The ONLY time that my fuel guage is accurate is when I am parked on the level. When I am working on my hilly property I never know how much fuel is left.

JWE and everyone...

I have a B2910 to compare to. The B2910 fuel gage is accurate from what I can see after 230+ hours of use...

Seems to me I should expect that the bx would be the same.

Will be interesting to see what my dealer says...

On the larger tractor it does not seem to matter what the angle is...

My fuel gauge has always worked correctly (2000 BX). I have a part time job mowing for a friend who has a 2001 BX, and his fuel gauge has always been erratic. Sounds like the luck of the draw determines the accuracy of the gauge.
