Just a few questions for you guys, I purchased my BX2200 in 7/02 so I guess I am still under a powertrain warranty, do you think that covers repairs to hydraulic hoses. It looks like one is leaking that goes to the power steering, right underneath the floorboard. I tired to remove to floorboad but I am having a little difficulty. I removed all the bolts. The only thing in the way is the knobs for the mower deck height and the hydraulic transmission. I would hate to break them. Anyone have any suggestion as the best way to take them off?

Has anyone else had hose leaks? It totally drained all my hydraulic fluid? ALso does anyone think this is under warranty?

One more thing, the boot on the PTO drive from the engine looks all torn up, it does not look like anything damaged it, it looks dry rotted? I stuck my finger in there and it was dry and nothing was leaking out, do I need to replace that too?

My guess would be that the hoses are NOT covered. Usually it is just the mechanical driveline that is covered.

As far as getting the floor pan off, if I can remember, the knobs pull off. They are tight, but they do come off.

The warranty for the tractor itself is warrantied for 3 years. I don't believe that there are any exclusions for hose, boots, etc. It is for the complete tractor, but not the accessories such as the loader or mid mount mower. Since this hose feeds the power steering, I believe that it is covered, and I would let the dealer handle the complete repair. Also have them check for any other problems before it is out of warranty. Better to get all repairs done on Kubota's nickle than your own. They will even pay for the lost hydraulic fluid.

One of my power steering hoses started to leak and the floor pan has to come up, the knobs just pull off and are easy to put back on. Go ahead and get both hoses made so you don't have to do that again, the dealer said the original hoses don't last long. There are four hoses hooked to the steering unit and if I remember correctly, I had to remove one of the ones that run to the front in order to get to one of the hoses that go down under the floor. I think that I had to remove the left rear tire to get at the one hose that comes out of the hydrostat. The job is not that hard to do, just be sure to mark which hose goes where. Good luck.

Ricky, I read the warranty and it does not specify whether the power steering is covered under the powertrain warranty. It does say that it covers the front axle assembly and all pumps and valves associated with the powertrain. Items not covered by the powertrain warranty (Including some engine parts) have a two year warranty which is the rest of the tractor. The attachments and the battery are warranted for one year.

Found out that the hoses are not covered under warranty. Kubota customer service stated that it is only INTERNAL parts to the transmission and engine that are covered.

BUT......Since KUBOTA knows that it had manufacturer problems with the hoses, the regional sales manager could do a "POLICY ADJUSTMENT" to help pay for the hoses.

The bx2200 that I have has ONLY 178 hours on it, even though it is only 2-1/2 years old. It should not have leaked so soon. Also when I got to the parts, the steering hose that goes to transmission by the left wheel well was worn down to almost leaking at the guide area. The guide had a post on one side, and no post on the other, and it was wearing where the ended on the opposite side as the post (outboard side of the tractor). The hose appears to be leaking inside the sleeve at the point where it goes through the opening in the frame on the left side of the tractor. Has anyone else had this problem?

I just had one of my hoses burst yesterday. There are two hoses going from just under the steering column to each wheel cannister. They run along the left side and are in a sleeve. One of them had been rubbing against a bolt head and finally wore through. I took them off yesterday and will get replacements made today. My BX22 is 4 years old and has 440 hours on it. I was able to remove them by loosening the side panel and getting a wrench up from under the front of the tractor.

My uncle and I bought Bx2200 one month apart, both had hose leaks approx. one month after the other. Last year warranty covered hose. Then this year same hose leaked again. My uncle sent his back to dealer, warranty covered it again, but I didn't send my back to the dealer this time, I can't afford to lose my tractor for two weeks. Yes, that's how long my dealer takes to fix it. I'm too busy working, so my Dad fixed it for me. All he did was take hose off, then took it to a local place that makes hoses and had one made, with thicker hose this time and it's good to go. By the way, it only cost me around $30 for the new hose.
