BX2200 Hydrauilc problems

Took a look at the manual. Looks like the lever is returned to neutral via a feed back rod.. Purely mechanical, not hydraulic at all.

Look at the back right side of the tractor. You should see a plate bolted onto the right side lift arm. As the arm is raised that plate pushes back against a spring on the end of the feedback rod and when enough pressure is exerted on the spring, the lever is pulled back to neutral. Simple enough mechanism..

I'll take a look at the tractor sometime this week or weekend. Guessing its nothing a hose and a can of WD-40 wouldn't cure. At worst, a ledge worn onto the feed back shaft itself (probably from the shaft vibrating against the plate or the spring) may need a file taken to it.

Lemme know if you get a look at yours first.

I have adjusted the rod in the past when I could not get the MMM to lock into top position.

The problem is it will go part way up lug the engine,(like when you have fully reached the up position) I have to manually move lever to "neutral" then pull lever back up for 3-point OR MMM to raise a couple more inches. I will have to do this 3-4 times to full get to the fully raised position.

I would change out the filters and fluid. You said its already 100 hours over. You may have some crud in there retricting flow. Also clean the screen. If that doesnt work the only other options I can think of is a bad relief valve, blocked line (or partially), or the valve is going bad. Also lube up all the linkage if you already haven't.

Ok, I will give that a try.

How would I know if i had a bad relief valve, blocked line (or partially), or the valve is going bad? Does this require tearing into the machine or is it external?

I have never done any relief valve work so I can not tell you. The condition of the fluids and any debris that may be in it will tell you if you could have a blocked line. If it comes out clean and the screen has no shavings on it then I can see no reason for a blocked line unless something got under the machine and crushed or pinched one of the lines. One quick question...did you check fluid levels?? Make sure its full. That may cause it also.

Ditto on the above.
Still sounds like the feedback rod is not adjusted properly.

FYI, lugging when the lever is not return to the nuetral position is normal on the 00 & 30 series BX's (yours is a 00 series).

If possible, return the adjustments on the feedback rod back to where it was before you 1st adjusted it, then see how it operates. IF it needs further adjustment follow the manual precisely to adjust it.
Good luck
Dave

Take the tire off on the the left side. take a good look at the linkage as the mower goes up. keep your fingers away from everything and have a helper on other side and raise/lower deck. still having problems? disconnect the top arms from 3 pt and repeat. still having problems? remove mower and take a good look at the lift frame as it goes up manually with your hands after you drop it all the way on dail number 1. chances are you have something binding mower deck or 3pt ram piston.

You could also completely disconnect the feedback rod from the lever and see if the 3pt goes all the way up without it. There should just be a hairpin that holds the feedback rod into the lever.

That would point to or rule out the rod.

The relief valve can be serviced without tearing into the HST. Should be accessible from the rear, but don't know where it is on your BX. You can check the relief valve by checking your pressure with a pressure gauge but without the FEL valve I'm not sure where you'd plug a gauge in. BX pressure should be near 1800 PSI so if your machine goes into relief well below that pressure it would indicate a bad relief valve.
