BX2200 My First Disapointment!

TresCrows,

Or should I call you "BX High Cult Priest?" I knew better than to respond to your post and fully accept the consequences of doing so. I was simply trying to compliment fishmans memory. It's comforting to know Kubota is shooting straight on the way they spec. their tractors. If my wife ever decides to get a front loader for her tractor I'll point out the lift height difference and maybe she will trade the whole thing for the BX and the cup holder. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Twinkle Toes, AKA, Al, you can respond anytime /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif but just remember to refer to me as "His High Priest of the BX Cult" /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif . I just like to keep the record straight ever since the well known website infered the BX could not do the work of a real tractor like the B1700 which has the same engine (as the BX) but that is ancient history. Off to burn some more brochures in sacrifice, seems the BX is angered by my lustful staring at the huge 'bota next door. What will it take to appease the goddess BX. J

I had the same problem with a high sided truck. By using some expanded metal and scrap iron, I made a ramp that is light and easily moved with the FEL. I first used the car ramps as someone else suggested but they are hard to keep in place and easy to miss with the front tires. The only problem I had with the ramp was my box blade scraping the ground when used as ballast. I fixed this by moving my lift arms 1.5 inches further out towards the end of the three point hitch to give more lift height.

"His High Priest of the BX Cult"

TresCrow let me start by saying I don't think if your going to running your BX you should be getting High. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I did have a question in my prior post that I still can't figure out and that was:
. It's a little curious why the LA 302 has 52" of clearance when the bucket is in dump while the LA211, with about 2" higher max lift has a clearance in dump of 51.8". Longer bucket??

So before you burn your brochures can you help?

I'm actually thinking of getting one of the 6x10 dump trailers, they have low load heights, even for my bigger tractors. Seeing that truck you'd have a tough time filling it with anything but a full size backhoe unless you are loading pea gravel or sand as you'll never reach the middle. Unless of course you can make a loading dock out of logs or railroad ties or cement so you can drive the BX into the truck from the rear.

Dig on!

Not sure Twinkle, I see that it may be possible for the LA211 to have more range in the bucket travel because it also has a greater digging depth. Both have a 45 degree dump angle but that may be achieved with a much steeper lift arm angle. I cannot answer your question except that I have the diagram detailing the various dimensions and how they are taken and what they say is what they say. I can tell you the BX seems capable of lifting the bucket nearly up over the tractor--reach with bucket on the ground is 51 for the 302 and 52 for the 351 and 51.6 for the BX. Also, roll back angle is 25 degrees for the BX and 24 degrees for the 301/302 and 351 and reach at max height is 29.9 for the BX and 25.0 for the 351. J

I got the photo today of the three point hitch modification. Will also attach a photo of the ramp used in the next post.

Photo of loader ramp. It was made with scrap metal and stays out in weather but it is helpful when extra loader height is needed.

del,

"Great minds" naw...

I looked at a 6' by 10' dump trailer today it is built in Oregon and sold under the name "Premier". It had a manual ram, the guy said it took about a 100 pumps to dump. 6 ply tires and 30" metal sides. 3500 lb axle. They were asking $1700.

What have you been looking at?
