BX2200 temp hitting the red

First off let me preface this by saying the running hot was a chronic prob for me over the 10 years i owned my bx2200 and w/o the advice of the folks on this list I cracked a head gasket so I am trying to use the list to do a better job of maintenance avoiding problems with my new Kubota. On the BX 2200
The radiator screens are placed where they quickly clog if you use the belly mower with a mulching kit. That was the biggest problem. Somewhere around 400-450 hours replaced water pump and that made a huge difference but even after fixing that it still went thru a lot of coolant
I rarely had trouble with the lawn or using the loader or other attachments but it always seemed a little under powered to cut the higher grass in the pasture

To an earlier comment, diesels can't "run lean" like a gas engine. Since there is no restrictor in the engine's air flow, the amount of fuel injected determines the engine power (speed). Less fuel would not be lean, but rather lower power or speed.

Dirty screen/radiator is 99% of the solutions to this problem.
