BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

Folks,

I have been going back and forth with e-mails with Pat (Pat's Easy Change System) as to whether or not the Easy Change will work on my Kubota BX2230.

Pat replied with the following:

Pat Greenwell MFG. [mailto:patrickg@bbtel.com] Yes it will work on your BX2230 with the standard lift arm and if it has extendable lengths in the lift arm it will take 3 1/2 inches. Thanks Pat

I responded with this question:

Pat, You mention if it has extendable lengths in the lift arm. Do you know if my BX2230 has that? It is a stock set-up. Please advise. Steve

and his reply was:

Pat Greenwell MFG. [mailto:patrickg@bbtel.com] Steve: Some tractors come with that option. I don't know if your tractor came with that option. Thanks Pat

So, my questions are, does anyone know if the BX2230 comes with the extendable lengths in the lift arm? And...what are extendable lengths in the lift arm? Does anyone have this system on their stock BX's?

I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Please advise,
Steve

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

Stephen, I'm sure that the 2230 lift arms are the same as the BX2200, at least the ones I've seen look the same, and the Pats Quick Hitch works really well on the BX 2200. If you have the original stabilizer adjusters which are turnbuckle, get the lift arm separators that Pat has to hold the lift arms at the correct width when you back up and hook to the impliment. You'll probably have to remove the separator after you get hooked up, especially if you're going to use an impliment thea uses the pto shaft. Hope this helps.

One thing to watch is the thickness of the spacers is different. When I was cleaning up after installation, I discovered that I had two different thickness of spacers left over, so had to redo it.

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

I had one GREAT advantage, I was there where they make them and they showed me what to expect when installed. They have a model of the arms it works on. Installation was a breeze, went on fine, used the thinner of the spacers for my BX 2200. Got them on a lined up with the arms as far out as I need for my tiller and rake. Adjusted them for square with the easy to use adjustors. Backed up to the tiller and after getting the width right, cut a piece of plastic pipe to hook on and hold the arms open, snap snap, right in place. Extended the top link and hooked up the PTO shaft. I was wondering about the extra length needed for it, but all was good. It even made hooking the shaft up easier since I now have more room. Worked fine.

Taking off is just as easy, open the latch, hold it open with the holder provided and drop the arms........done.

Now to the rake. Real close to same width etc., but the rake weighs a lot less, so I have to add some weight (push down on it) to get it to latch. Hooked up the top link and away we go. Have not taken it off, since wife called for supper.........some things do come first.

Now as for Pat's place.............I am jealous of his operation to say the least. He has some great machinery, great people and a fantastic product. His place is really super, and his procedures are quite impressive. What automation there is, well, it is awesome. One would never guess what the building used to be, and he is getting bigger, and building a great product and business. The people are knowledgable, professional, and easy going as you can want. Got the nickel tour and met the folks that make these. Anyone that gets this should if they can go by there

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

Thanks guys. I’ll make the assumption the new BX 3 point setups are the same as the others.

Danny, The information and pictures were helpful. I just ordered the system with the stabilizer bar. I’ll let you folks know how it works out when I get it.

Thanks again.

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

want a photo of my bar............hold on, going to the garage to get it. Pat would not like this, but hey 20.00 is 20.00.

Here you go.......and yes that is .10 worth of plastic pipe. If you do this and write on it what it goes to, problem solved

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

Folks,

I just thought of one other question. I have the GCK60 Bagger Kit. I’m wondering if the tube from the deck to the bagger will have to be lengthened. Is anyone using Pat’s system with the bagger? If not, I’ll find out when it arrives.

Here is what I did to the ends to make it fly off or come off easy AFTER the attachment is on, works great!

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

If you have the 2910 stabilizer bars (a great improvement), you won't need your high dollar spreader bar..........

See ya.

Re: BX2230 and the Pat\'s Easy Change System

Ron,

Is that those bars that replace the chains and turnbuckles. I WANT those. Where can I find them, or do you know who can make them.
