What I have found on my BX23 is clean an use lite lube....in this case less lube allows less attraction for dirt. Each time before I mount MMM I pull the shaft off the MMM deck and slip it onto the PTO...If problem I clean the PTO shaft an collar and try again. Then all I need to do is line it up...not always easy but at least I know that the collar slipping on is not the problem...This also is great practice with the MMM out of the way. Oh another thing I do is in-gang the MMM PTO so that it does not turn while turning the coupler/shaft.
