BX2230 Ride Comfort Idea

<font color="chrome">1*Also, the BX23 vs the BX2230, if you are sure to buy a hoe, you might as well buy the BX23. I understand where you are coming from by trying to save money now, and spend it later when you have more. However, the price difference up from on the 23 vs the 2230 will be about $3500, and you can finance it with Kubota's financing, and get good rates.
* To buy a hoe a few years from now, you will either pay cash, or buy on credit with much higher rates. Unless you are paying cash now, in which case my point is completely busted. Either way though, they are great little machines.
2*The weight could be an issue too while mowing.
4* While the same general size of the BX2230, the extra weight will make it a turf killer I would think.
5*Nope, It isn't a turf killer like you think. Now I'm not here to try to convince you to get the bx23, but I don't think you would have any problem with weight on your lawn with the 23.
* My back hoe comes off in under 3 minutes. Really.
6*if you ever decide to sell the tractor, the BX23 will retain more of its original purchase price value than any other model.

<font color="purple"> 1*Mine was $3800.
*You need to figure inflation also. Tomorrow that $5000 BH will be more than it is today an you get to finance the higher price on the higher rate.
2*It don't seem to be with mine and most of the other BX23 owners.
4*Most BX23 owners who have posted here don't seem to agree with that.
5*I didn't have any such problems digging out stumps and using the FEL to back fill the holes. even on soft ground after 10 straifht days of rain.
* This is an option but I've never had to do it to save the turf.
6*Which may mean less cost involved in moving up or on.

No, it can be removed in 3 minutes, according to Woods claims, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and based on the instruction manual I saw, seems to be an accurate claim.

I found out the hard way how tough the BX links can be to hook up one time - my neighbor was gone when I went over to hook it up, and I didn't think to bring a can of WD40 over - one of the link pins was so dry, it wouldn't latch itself without me hammering it into the closed position, and even that took a while to get it to latch all the way. The other one clamped itself down with very little fuss. The Woods links aren't self latching - once the hoe is in position, you rotate the top half of the latch and insert a latch pin. The Woods hydraulic line is set up pretty much the same way as the BX. So if either my neigbor or I move, and I still want a backhoe for my subcompact after my tractor warranty is up, I'll buy the woods unit.

I still think that the BX23 is a better TLB choice than buying a machine that you have to purchase an aftermarket hoe for, but believe it or not, not all of us can justify buying the backhoe when we buy our tractor - whether it's a current financial issue, or a case of a neighbor saying "you can just use my backhoe whenever you need one - no sense in you buying one too". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
