I asked this question earlier under an old thread, but it was kind of buried and I don’t think too many saw it, so I’ll try again.
I was at the dealer and inquired about the air filter bracket as mine had broken a week or so ago. I welded it up already so there wasn't a rush. They had not heard of an upgraded bracket. When I got back to them a few days later they said there was a service report about the bracket for the Bx 2200, Bx22, Bx2300, but not the BX23. Isn't the BX22 & 23 the same engine? I would greatly appreciate if someone could find the new part # and/or the Kubota service notice for the improved bracket. They said without the notice from Kubota they couldn't get the new bracket. I told them that someone on TBN would know more about it :D. This particular dealer has not been the most helpful or knowledgeable in the past.
Thanks,
Ken

GUYS,
End your misery and get that filter canister off your engin.Make yourself up a brackett and hook it to the tractor..not the vibrating engin. After breaking two,i modified mine[others have too]ended all my problems. If you need some ideas,or pic of mine, would be glad to help.

Mine broke with less than 100 hrs. Dealer sent a new part for free, but it's exactly the same.

I went thru a couple of them including the upgraded version and found that a nice nylon tie works better. My nylon tie has gone 400 hours vs less than a 100 for the factory straps. just forget it and use a $1 tie and be done with it.

The problem seems to be caused by a harmonic vibration from the engine.
I slackened off the nuts holding the bracket to the motor and the vibration disappeared.
500+ hrs and no problem.

Agree w/ Jimbrown. I just tied a string around mine after fixing it a few times. A nylon tie should do the trick w/ more class than I have :)

"The problem seems to be caused by a harmonic vibration from the engine."

HARMONIC VIBRATION!!! If my head was strapped to that engine, I would have had scrambled eggs after the first 5 hours. Some would say I have that problem already, but I'd say the breakage issue has something to do with the extremely violent shaking that occurs every time the engine is started or stopped. Violent, like seeing my air filter assembly flopping around by a couple of inches as the engine is stopping. I've wondered two things: How the heck has mine not broken yet (at 68 hours) and why they didn't fix this from the 1800/2200 generation.

Dunno about the harmonic part, but it is definitely vibratory fatigue killing the air cleaner strap. The strap fights the connection between the inlet duct (frame) and engine mount. I suspect they mounted the mess to the engine to avoid fatigue in the air inlet hose to the engine. If THAT cracks, you are truly screwed.
