BX23 filter bracket question

I suspect they mounted the mess to the engine to avoid fatigue in the air inlet hose to the engine. If THAT cracks, you are truly screwed.

Air inlet hose on mine is rubber, just the same as my radiator hoses that are connected to the engine, vibration doesn't seem to affect them or the rubber engine mounts in any way. I had a filter bracket to break and when I got the replacement bracket it looked the same as the one that broke so when I put the new bracket on, I put plastic wire tie on the filter housing and fastened it to the side, been holding for three + years now.

Rubber *definitely* fatigues. Old rubber fatigues more easily than new rubber. I hope your inlet hose doesn't split, but IF it does you may not notice until after you have dusted your engine (eeek!). Hence my comment.

Replacement brackets are like $6 at TractorSmart (Keller Bros). With minimum shipping cost of $11, might as well order 2 or 3. Although the nylon ties sound pretty feasible too.

Has anyone tried a longer bolt with a spring under the head? I have used a spring like this when something is in a high vibration location with good luck.

When my strap broke at around 50 hours, I took an old 1.2 " wide leather belt. Cut to length, drilled mounting holes and securred the air filter with that. To date and over 250 hours later it is still holding. Gives the under hood a western theme also.

My BX2200 has ~750 hours on it now. I do not know exactly when the air cleaner strap broke, but it was in excess of 700 hours. I ordered an exact replacement, but apparently Kubota has replaced that P/N with a new one. This bracket seems to be more robust, using a heavier guage strap made in two halves that are secured together with a bolt, spacer, and nut. The only problem....they did not include the bolt, spacer and nut in the kit. So, another week's delay and a long drive back to the dealer. I have the P/N at home and can post it later.

There is also supposed to be a rubber cushion glued inside the strap that is listed as a separate part #.

I pm you about how do you run the grapple( or for that matter any 3 pt hyd attach) want to use BH connection with a control val to run grapple or winter angle of rear snow blade? I have a bx-23 also
