I have a BX23 coming Saturday, needless to say, I am very excited, I have a couple questions:

1. I want to use the FEL to hoist things. Often hooks are welded or bolted to the top of buckets for this purpose. Can I do this with this machine?

2. With a set of ramps and the FEL and backhoe removed, can I drive it up into my 1/2 ton pickup? Will the tailgate support the weight?

Thanks for the input.

DO NOT DRIVE IT INTO YOUR TRUCK. The tailgate will not take the weight. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif If you need to move it you can a rent a trailer and tow it much safer and a heck of lot better for your truck.

You can use it to hoist things, I do not know what the limit on the BX23 is I belive the limit on my 2230 is 480# I have only used the bucket lip and have to put some hooks on mine, did a little warping:)

Congrats on the new tractor !!!

Thank you. I have observed this board for a few weeks now and have found that it is about the best I have seen for any type of online forum, people appear to be sincere, knowledgable and respectful. Refreshing.

your BX23 WITHOUT the FEL and backhoe is up around 1600 pounds. I think the list on Kubota Website is 1590 and that is dry weight (or so I was told) If you have a Mid Mount Mower I think that adds around another 2-300 pounds

I wouldn't think about trying to drive it into the bed of a truck something will wind up getting broke, The truck the tractor, or your head. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Find yourself a trailer and be safe. I am personally still looking for a trailer for mine. I saved some $$ by converting a few attachments from my old Garden tractor so hopefully I will come across a triler at a decent price sometime soon.

Congrats on the BX23, it's a great machine!

Yes, you can either bolt or weld chain brackets to the top of the FEL and use them for lifting &/or secureing payload to the bucket. I believe the rated capacity is 460lbs or there about.
I bolted 3 std chain hooks to my FEL. One on either side & one in the middle. I found everything I needed at TSC and only had to drill 4 holes for the bolts. The attached pic is all I have on my work laptop but you can make the hooks out somewhat. Don't pay no mind to the turkey, he was just visiting. Lucky him that Thanksgiving is long off /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wouldn't recommend attempting to load the BX into a pkup. As others have pointed out re. the weight being too much as well as finding ramps that would be long enough as well as strong enough to allow a 1600lb tractor sans the BH, FEL & MMM to clmb into it. Most pkups have only alittle over 48: between the wheel wells and a 54" or 60" MMM tain't gonna fit.

Get a trailer rated at the least at 3500lbs. I have a 6x12 sngke axle that works but I have to contort the machine to get it too fit. Most go w/tandem axles and at least 6x14.

Great photo, that is exactly what I want to do. Hate to be a bother, what is "TSC"? Thanks, Alan

As others have said, do not attempt to ramp your tractor onto your pickup bed. I use a 6K tandem axle car hauler to move my BX22 around with/without FEL/BH. When I drive the BX22 up the trailer ramps, there is quite a bit of corresponding lift at the front of the trailer/rear of truck. I can only imagine what the front of your truck would do /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif while you climbed up ramps to the pickup bed, even if you removed the tailgate (it would not take the weight).

I believe the TSC is in reference to Tractor Supply Company chain of stores.
