BX23 Torn Boot

Has anyone had a stick rip off the rubber boot just before the hydro fan? I've read of a few fans getting broken by sticks but I guess I got semi lucky and the stick hit the fan and kicked it back and ripped off the rubber boot. Just wondering if I need to change it right away or I may be able to seal it better with silicone? Is there a bearing the boot protects?

I had the same thing happen, BUT did not tear the boot. BUT it did take out the wires to the fuel pump. Make sure u can hear the pump running before u turn the engine over.

The tractor still runs ok it just made a bad vibration and I shut it down. After removing the stick it started and ran fine. Just found Bro-Tec i'm gonna armour it.

I just tore the same boot this past weekend, and was wondering if you had yours repaired, or did it yourself, and what your experience was. Any info would be appreciated.
