Your problem will be tires. My dealer absolutely refused to even discuss putting on turfs. And he was right - my ags barely have enough grip.

Depends what you're on. On a "flat" hard surface Turfs will have more grip (ice, hard packed stuff). For a rough soft surface ag's will have more grip (garden soil, deep snow).

I'm on the other side of the fence on this one. I have a 60" BB and had no trouble dropping one arm and grading/leveling for runoff on my driveway last year. I have 100' poplars, too, and have used the scarifiers at first setting over this hightly rooted, heavy clay soil and, though it would catch up and spin in 4WD with Trac-lok engaged while in low, a quick reverse and dead ahead would break it free eveytime.

Granted, I have never used a smaller BB so I may be missing a convenience that is foreign to me.

When I first bought my BX I just had the 65" (Bush Hog brand, heavy duty) box blade that I use on my L3130. A couple of times I tried using it on the BX to spread gravel and it worked great. I was really surprised.. I did NOT use the tines and this was loose gravel as I was top dressing the driveway. I didn't have the loader on and I had no problem lifting the box blade without ballast on the front. Also, I did have turfs on (although I do have a separate set of R4s that put on at the end of mowing season). I found no need to switch tires.

Since, I did purchase a 48" box blade at Tractor supply, not nearly the weight or quality of the Bush Hog BB, but it does the job well and I have no trouble using it to bust up hard packed soil.
