You guys did great;)

stu, I would have never guessed it would be a nut issue. pun intended. I was wondering if you could post a pic of where the nut was or describe it ? I was thinking if yours fell off, I wonder if mine might be loose and if it is, then I want to add red loctite to prevent similar fate. I wouldn't want to lose that feature.;)

Yes..........It calls for loctite. I think mine was loose for a long time and slowly the nut backed off. I did not in the past feel the indent when I pushed to the far right as I do now.
Its easy to see whats going on if you take the air intake screen off (if its the BX model as mine.
Then there are just a couple of bolts to take off and the bottom cowling splits where the lines run through to the control. It only takes a few minutes to take off. Then you have a birds eye view on how its all hooked up
Good Luck Stu:)

Sorry to resurrect a year-old thread (I guess front mount snowblowers and chute rotators only get checked in November!).

I found this thread since I have the exact some problem with a new chute rotator I recently installed. I learned that I have a right indent and non-regen valve mode that I never knew about (and isn;t referenced in the owners manual), and it solved the problem...the chute rotates back when pushed far right past the indent into the non-regn mode.

However, this post does not have an answer to one of the questions raised (post #3)...does this regen problem require the eventual replacement of the 4 way valve? (which works fine in all directions for the loader and front blade, just not for the chute rotator for the snowblower). Did Kubota replace even though it is past-warranty?

At least it is working for now...thanks again to all who helped with the original post.

I think I found an answer to my question: in some old posts by kennyd (great name by the way), this is not a "problem" but a "feature" and doesn't seem to require replaceing the valve.

Just wish Kubota would make this "feature" a lot clearer in their documentation tha came with the chute rotator!

You sure do NOT need to replace your valve...it is working as intended. Most dealers (read: Salesmen) don't even know about this "feature"

Thanks Kenny D. You're absolutely right. When I went back to my Kubota dealer today to tell them I resolved the problem after researching on TBN, the Warranty Manager didn't know about the right detent or the regen issue (I showed him on a floor model).

Still wonder why Kubota doesn't mention it at all in their BX2360 manual, or the chute rotator installation manual...it would reduce the number of questions or problems that apparently a lot of TBN members have experienced.

Reading your original explanation was one of those "duh" moments for me...of course (unlike a cylinder) a rotary hydraulic motor has identical high pressure in both the feed and return lines since they're a loop, and the valve needs to handle this.

Best wishes.

I installed my new blower and the rotator didn't turn to the right. I called my salesman and he immediately knew I hadn't pushed past the detent. Guess he knows his stuff.

Another option if you can train your self is to swap functions when using the blower.

Use curl function for lift and dump for lower. Just use a little caution since the lower will be quick do to the regen.

Use raise and lower for right and left turn of chute.

I find this much easier to use since now you feather the chute movement easier in both directions. This also works for snow plows where the swing is an issue.

Oldnslo:

I know you're right (because I tried it) about dealing with the lack of rotator return by swapping the hose hook-up to use the raise/lower to turn the rotator back and forth, while the curl/dump still raises and lowers the snowblower

But I don't understand why you have to push it to the far right for the regen function (which essentially depressurizes the return line) on the curl/dump circuit in the 4 way valve, but the rotator works fine in both directions (without the regen function) on the raise/lower circuit. The 4 way has the same pressure in both circuits.
