I am looking at a BX2350. Got a price of $9,850 which includes a 60" MMM, and an additional $2,600 for a FEL.

My inquiry relates to the difference between a regular MMM and a "fine cut" MMM. Can anyone provide any guidance on the differences? I have about one acre of lawn and 3 more of pasture. I would be getting a rotary cut for the pasture, but wonder if I would have a "nicer" looking lawn area with the fine cut mower option.

Also, "fine cut" aside, everyone seems to focus on an MMM as their mowing option. Can anyone explain what advantages/disavantages there would be to get a pull type finish mower instead of an MMM? I have approximately a dozen trees to navigate around on my acre of mowing ground. Will a pull type finish mower navigate better or more difficult around these? A pull type mower is nearly $900 less for the same cutting width, so will I see or experience a noticible difference?

SweetH20,

I have a 60" standard mmm deck with my bx2350. I have a little trouble with getting a great cut over tire tracks. I cut with the grass dry but, granted I do cut a little on the fast side. I just bought some High lifting blades ($45 a set) to see if that will help. Havn't put them on yet. I do wonder if the fine cut deck would have helped. You are getting such a good price you could easily justify the buying the fine cut deck. I'm horrible with a trailer mmm much better for me.

I doubt you would like the RFM for mowing around obstacles. Go with the MMM.

The MMM will be better for trimming up close and around objects. With an RFM, everytime you turn one direction your mower is swinging out the opposite direction. RFM's work best in open areas that require minimal trimming.

Ok, I think I have ruled out the RFM, but still don't know much about the new "fine cut" MMM. I checked with the guy who is working with me at the dealer, and he said that it had only been out three months or so and would have to call Kubota for any information. I'll pass along anything he reports back.
