BX2350 Mowing Options

I just had a BX2350 with a 60" MMM and a B7510 with a 60" rear discharge RFM out to demo for the weekend. We've got a new house lots of dirt and field, no real 'lawn' and while both mowers got the job done both my wife and I preferred the RFM for two reasons: 1) With the very light dusty soil we have and the lack of an established lawn the MMM COVERED us with dirt, dust and dried grass. 2) We both prefered the rear discharge for the lack of windrow. (we also had a case DX29 with a side discharge RFM and preferred the rear discharge). We were mowing what would be the equivalent of your pasture with few obstacles except a few tree lines. Surprisingly my wife preferred the RFM for the trees because with the rear-discharge she could get between them with both sides of the deck, whereas I preferred the BX2350 for driving up to them.

Demo both types of mowers if you can. Between the two of us we put rougly 10h on each of them. I'm still making up my mind, but this weekend really helped.

Good suggestion, Chris. I'll see what I can do as far as a demo. I heard back from the dealer guy who had talked to the factory guy about the "fine cut" MMM deck.

First off, it only comes in 48" and 54". It has a deeper housing which is supposed to cut the clippings finer. The loss of the 6" from the 60" is enough to make my mind up.

It also was quoted to me as a $100 add on. The factory guy said that they had shipped very few of them. If others see it as I do, that probably won't change.

Go Big Orange!

I had the option of buying either the standard or fine cut and asked my dealer waht the difference was. He told me that he viewed a demo at one of the Kubota plants and both he and his boss were scratching their heads. Apparently there were sevaral other dealers who had the same thoughts.
As a result he only carries the standard decks. He told me I could certainly order one but I would not be using my money very wisely.
I bought the standard version...

My understanding is the Fine Cut has a very good mulching kit available. If you don't mulch, it would probably not do a thing better.

Give East Tn Equipment a call. They may be able to beat that price. Try Tyler Bro's in Maryville too.

The std 60" MMM does very well for me. I much prefer it too the bushhog I used to mow the back 40 with.

I get down around Sweetwater every now and then. That big Massey dealer was where I checked out the GC2310.

How 'bout that Bruce Pearl /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
