Bx2350 vs b7610

I'd also recommend the 7510 or 7610 size tractor. I have a Kioti CK20 which is equivalent and I did look closely at the BX series and B series before getting it. The size difference is important unless you are primarily mowing lawns and operating on cleared land.

I agonized between a BX2350 and a B7610 for quite awhile this spring. Nearly pulled the trigger on the Bx2350 a couple of times. Finally bought the B7610 for the exact reasons that hwew has posted....larger, low rpm engine with more torque and flexibility, better ground clearance, better ride over rough ground with the larger tires. I've been very happy with the choice.

Don't forget, you may want to do some loader work without taking the mower off. The taller B7610/B7510 is better able to get the mower up and out of the way.

I suspect, however, that the suspended mower deck on the BX would probably leave a cleaner looking mow job than the ground supported B model mower. The gauge wheels on my mower deck press the lawn down enough to leave a streaking effect when the ground is damp.

Thank you for the comments Bob.

There is a suspended mower deck for the B7510 and B7610 Tractors.
The model # is RCK54-75B. It is pretty much the same mower deck as the RCK54-24B mower deck. What they did they changed the mounting hardware that fits the B7500, B7510 and B7610 tractors.
I believe it will also fit some B7400 tractors (the ones with mid mount PTO). It leaves a very nice cut.

I almost sold mine but I pulled out of the sale.
I am glad I did. I cuts much better then the rear mount mower That I wanted to replace it with. Glad I tried it out first.

Not much question that a B would suit better than BX. BX is for guys like me that don't have horses, but do more outside than sit on the front stoop. A B-series would be unwieldy on my 2 acres in a residential neighborhood, but the thought of getting (another) Craftsman with all the obvious limitations didn't work either. BX definitely has some limitations, but I can pass it off to neighbors/friends as the baddest lawn mower in the land. If I actually had "work" to do (mow 3 acres and care for horses and such), I'd have a B.

The thing you have to figure out is what are you going to use it for.
I made a mistake with my first Kubota and I try to help others not to make the same mistake.

BX series tractors are good tractors but they have limitations in soft soil with low ground clearance.

All tractors have limitations. Just try to make the best decision the first time.

HWEW has a very good point here.

I started looking at the BX 2200. Then looked and drove a 7510.

Bought the B7610.

Back to hwew's point, a couple things I do quite a bit of now, which I never would have imagined 2 years ago when I bought the tractor, is clearing the trails in the woods and moving/stacking/removing large brush piles (with dirt and rocks jammed in just for giggles....I didn't put them in there.)

The extra ground clearance required to climb up these piles (and avoid getting stuck, or hung up) is easily provided by the 7610. As is driving over old stumps in the woods without much trouble. Not sure a BX would be the "better fit" for those tasks.

Then there is the "mind over matter" thing, where I feel more secure backing into 2 ft of snow while snowblowing in the B. On a BX the rear tires would be burried! Not saying that the BX wouldn't do it. I just feel more bulletproof on the higher B series.

And as previously mentioned, there's the loader extra capacity. Both in weight and volume. When I first looked at the B I wanted the small loader (LA 272 I believe) because it was roughly equiv to the standard BX loader. The dealer quickly talked me into the LA 302 loader then into the LA352 when I decided to upgrade to the B7610. Im I glad I did. I use to all the time, and to it's max (and more) many times. Large rocks in particular.

I guess what I'm saying is that I use my tractor now for many things I didn't think I'd ever use it for. And I'm sure there are many more new things to come. And I'm glad I went for the largest machine I could almost afford, (ha) that still can mow my yard. It sure makes life easier now. And besides, in another year the pain of the payments will be gone, and the joy she she brings to my jobs will still be there...waiting for more to come.

-Best of luck....a tractor is a beautiful thing.

I have never heard of anyone regretting buying the larger tractor when they were considering two sizes.

I have the B7500 and I recently had the opportunity to play with a BX23 for a while. I was considering selling mine and going to a BX for reasons that made sense to me at the time. After playing with the BX a while I decided I would not be happy with anything smaller than what I had. I did not like the less ground clearance and the feel of much less tractor under me. I do not think the BX would handle the implements I have nearly as well as the B7500.

BX what ever is a cute toy tractor that is a heck of a lot more machine that what you get at Wall-Mart. Heck it even has a Loader. It will impress the neigbors in the development and is aweful handy in a backyard.

B7610, LA 352 is a tiny little real tractor that will work in woods or on small farm.

For $1500, what are you thinking?

In defence of the BX series, they are much more than overgrown lawn tractors and for a smaller plot of land, especially in suburbia or non agricultural areas, they simply make sense. They are easiler to store, are kinder to turf and have implements that are better sized for smaller plots than their bigger brethren. Big enough, not just bigger, should be the mantra of all tractor owners and for many people the BXs are just that.

My 2 cents... Mind you I haven't owned a B series, but the BX is quite a machine... and I realize you don't buy a tractor to sell it, but, there are a lot more home owners than "farms" and it may be easier to sell a BX, should you consider upgrading every 5 - 10 years.. Just another view...

So far I have 8.5 hours on my BX, and I can't believe how well it digs with a 4' bucket.. Once I get som ballast out back, I can only imagine it will be even better...

The cut of the 60" MMM is at least equal to my 44" Simplicity, not to mention 8.5 hours of using the FEL and I've only used 4 gallons.. of fuel. 2 hours of mowing with my 16Hp Vangard and I'd eat nearly 3 gallons of gas.. But I'm getting off topic, I know your not comparing a Gas lawn mower to the BX....

Only you know your needs and your history of upgrading.. from reading on here for 6 months, you will likely be happy with whatever you purchase...

Good luck.....
