In defence of the BX series, they are much more than overgrown lawn tractors and for a smaller plot of land, especially in suburbia or non agricultural areas, they simply make sense. They are easiler to store, are kinder to turf and have implements that are better sized for smaller plots than their bigger brethren. Big enough, not just bigger, should be the mantra of all tractor owners and for many people the BXs are just that.

I wish my L39 was heavy and stronger with more tire flotation and a bit wider track, but not bigger.

From this I apologize if I cut the BX short, let's say it fits just right in suburbia and the B series in a small rural setting where a larger compact is to much and the BX does not have quite enough weight and tire.

If you have use for a tiny BH, the TLB package beats a shovel around the yard.

A CK20 or B7610 or NH TC23DA/TC26DA etc just seem to fit the small tractor bill for me and one of these will replace my B7200 someday.

Does it matter if a BX fits in a 4.5 x10' space and you need 5 x12' to store a b series?

The BX23 works fine for me. Ground clearance has never been a problem on my 4 acres.
The tiny BH has dug a pond, dug out for water and sewer lines, countless stumps and large rocks and with the addition of the thumb it has become an excellent cherry picker that can lift 500lbs with ease.
If I ever do need to upsize, I wouldn't consider anything smaller than a B7800 or B2630 as I already have a 22hp machine......

Good rule of thumb is if mowing is priority #1 go with the BX series, If working ground engagement implements is priority #1 go with the B series.

I was defending the BX but like you I chose something a bit bigger for essentially the same money. I have a CK20TLB which specs out closer to the B21 than the BX23/24 and I love it. I think the point is that users needs differ and the BX may well suit some people to a T. It is a fine tractor (as are the others you mention) and people considering the purchase of an "entry level" TLB might well fall into the BX camp due to it's strong points (light weight, superb mowing capability) or something in between (7610 TLB) or a heavier machine with TLB optomized but not as well set up for finish mowing (CK20). These are all fine machines the challenge is to pick the one that works best for you.
