Oil & Fuel BX2360 50hr transmission service

Heard of recycling?!

And unless you have it tested, you'll never know! Steel is a resource too and if it breaks then what?

I go by the people who design and manufacture these things, not someone's opinion on a forum.

Taken from a thread by JOHNTHOMAS:

"John, the person or persons from TBN do not know what they are talking about. There has not been a Service Bulletin or even a notice sent to the dealers that this is a mistake in the Operators manual. Kubota Tractor recommends for you to follow your Operators manuals for servicing of each unit you have.
The BX2660 and the BX25 do not have to have the transmission
fluid change until it reaches the 400 hour mark.
For the F2680, it is the 200 hour mark. The transmission oil filters need to be replaced and the suction strainers cleaned at or before the 50 hour mark for all three units.
Your selling dealer can also assist you if you have any questions in
regard to servicing your tractors. Thank you for purchasing and contacting
Kubota Tractor Corp.."

Of the advocates of changing the Hyd fluid at 50 hours rather than take a chance, I've asked them why 50 and not 25. So far none of them have given me an answer!! Where did 50 come from to start with and not 10 or even 100? Why 50???????:confused2::confused2: I say WHY 50 of all the possible numbers to pick!!

Good point. I picked 50.5 :) But I tend to live on the edge...

I take it the BX24 and 25 books are different? The '24 book says replace hyd fluid at 50.

Since I don't have all or probably any of the answers, my new year's resolution, albeit a bit late is to stay off any thread dealing with:

1. Lubricant type or frequency of change.
2. Fuel additives.

I am sure I will be expanding my list to possibly include:

1. Cab vs open station.
2. Gear vs HST.
3. HST vs HST+.
4. Ag vs Industrial vs Turf.

And maybe even more to come.

NO!! You can not avoid these "discussions". I deny you permission to run and hide from the change at 50 hours hyd fluid or your tractor will dissolve at 342 hours group or the you paid $50,000 for a machine and won't throw away fluids for no reason group. NOOOO! We have to stand together against these 50 hour guys that just made that number up, I'd support 22 hours using their logic or even 10 but I can't stomach the 50 hours for no logical reason.
Yes, Kubota changed the schedule for Hyd fluids on the BXs and I think Bs about 3 years ago or longer. I believe it was midstream on the 50 series because I think my BX2350 was out of the 50 hour rut and into the longer 123 hours change schedule.

You know it is a shame a person can't state their opinion or blow it all out of portion when you do.

I said either "replace or have it tested and not rely on your nose or eyes to determine your fluid is good ". Paraphrasing, so be sure to blow it out of proportion as well TripleR.

TripleR, do what you want! I have my fluids tested and do what is needed according to my results, basically trying to suggest the same approach.

Had to edit this post because I didn't want to be as rude as I felt TripleR was.

One could argue many different reasonings for changing fluids, I prefer to change mine early on the first intervals just to ensure beak in particles are flushed out. But after that I merely test before i decide to change my fluids. But hey if you want to trust everything a billion dollar company has to say, that's your prerogative.
