My tractor's mower will not raise and lower now. It is a couple of months old and I have been using it to mow my 5 acres without issue. A family member was showing us how to use the PTO in the rear of the tractor but had some difficulties. Eventually he had the rear pto moving but now I can not get the mower to engage. I have the PTO select lever to A for the mower only but no reaction from the mower when I engage the PTO Clutch lever. He did spend time twisting the 3-point lowering speed knob when he was attempting to get the mower to work. Does anyone have any suggestions to try? There are no implements attached to the tractor at this time.

Did he turn it to the extreme (not sure which direction restricts it) position? Try turning it the other way or to the middle of its travel. Did he turn the deck height position to "Top" by chance? Does the 3-point rockshaft move? On my BX22 the mid pto position is back on the lever and both in the center. Not sure if thats the same or of any help to you

The deck height position is at 2.5. I am not sure what you mean about the 3-point rockshaft moving. I looked up the definition of 3-point rockshaft and am still at a loss. Can you explain what I should be looking at and if you are talking about it moving when I put my hand on it or when I turn a lever. I did play a bit with the 3-point lowering speed knob earlier hoping that would make a difference but it did not.

Speed the motor up to at least 1800 RPM and try raising the 3PH.

If it won't go down adjust the speed control. Did the deck also come up?

I had to go back out to check if I could raise the deck and Yes I can so that means I can mow tomorrow.

Questions: Is it okay to have both the 3PH and the mower activated at one time? Do I need to have the 3PH lowered to mow? Or should it just be lowered since I am not using it? Do I want to do something else before I mow? The PTO select lever is at the mid-PTO position. I am surprised that both the 3ph and the mower are functioning at the same time in that position. Why did raising the 3ph make it possible for me to raise the mower deck...the mower deck would not raise before?

The rockshaft is what the 3-point arm's lift links connect to. Is the mower deck in the raised position or at the 2.5 setting? If it is in the raised position, try going to the "top" position and then back 2.5 and try it. If its down and the 3-point works but the deck doesn't, there must be a linkage problem, at least if it's made the same as my BX22. The mower linkage is attached to the 3-point, so if it moves, the deck should too, unless the knob is in the "Top" position, which holds the deck linkage up.

The mower deck and 3PH raise together. Just lower the deck til it hits the stop, no need to have the 3PH all the way down. You can disconnect the 3PH and move the arms into 2 holes that are close to the fender to lock it up when it is not in use.(I probably did not describe that good)

I want to thank you all for helping me resolve my tractor/mower problem. I have done a test run of the mower and it works great. I am headed out to finish the acreage. I have so much to learn about this tractor!
