BX2370 on hills.

Code, I'm really glad to hear that you think it can handle the hills. I'm in the Marietta area of Ohio, so our hills are very similar to yours in Putnam County.

Very true - Same hills different state name.
Check out Jividen's Kubota over in Ohio - real good guys to deal with!

I have a 6 acre place in Southeast Ohio. It's a very hilly place. I am considering
buying a 2014 BX2370 with a 60" belly mower and a 48" brush cutter. I have a
couple of questions.

How do these machines do on hills? My field has some places where the grade might be 25% or more. Should I expect any tipover problems? Should I
consider wheel spacers to afford more width of the tractor. I'll be using ag tires.

Also, should I consider a skid plate of any kind? I may be going into the woods
from time to time to pull out logs for firewood. Many owners have talked about
the hydro fan needing to be protected. My dealer says this is an old issue that
Kubota has fixed on the current model.

I really appreciate these forums. And thank you all in advance for your help and
answers.

Chuck
A 25% grade would be no problem.

This is a 50% grade, or about 27 degrees of slope.

Hi Chuck, I have a BX2360 and I use it for most everything except mowing. It is tippy. Here in the Adirondacks, most every piece of property has a hill or two and mine is no exception. I got a skid plate right away from BXpanded. fits right on with no problems. I can tow logs that are 12" in diameter and 15 feet long with ease. I would say that if you don't lose concentration, the hills should be OK, but looking at the chart above, I would not try the 27% one myself. Good luck.

Thanks mccash40. I just ordered the 2 inch spacers from Bro-Tek. I am very hopeful that will do the trick for me. I've used lots of bigger tractors on my hills, so I was just looking for a little extra security on this little guy.

I bought BroTek wheel spacers and rear and mid skid plates. I put 2in spacers on the back and 1.25in on the front. I can't remember but there is some limitation on the mid mount mowing deck depending on the size spacers you use. Sorry, I can't remember what exactly but you can research that quickly...

If you have the 60" MMM you can use the 2" spacers, but not with the 54" MMM as the rear tires will then hit the mounting bracket of the mower's gauge wheels. With a 54" inch deck the max spacers you can use is 1.25", if I remember correctly.

Our properties are pretty darned steep in places and we've had no trouble with our BX2200 or BX2660. My wife now is the primary user so I put 2" spacers on both as it makes her feel safer.

It's not the slope so much as the inoportune rock that lifts a rear wheel or mole hole on the downside wheel when on a slope that will get you. The best reason to keep it low and slow!!! Can't stress this enough working on slopes most of the time with my BX and I have the two inch spacers. Can't imagine going without them now. They do make a difference but I still 'pucker' too often.
