Just a follow-up. I found the plow works much better with the BH off. It will still drift a bit if it's pushing a lot of snow, but it track much better with the now heavier front end.

I'm still plowing snow, but I have to push it to one side of the driveway, then take a couple passes with the snowthrower to lift it up and over the frozen plow berm. This should work fine for the remainder of the season.

I plow with a BX24, turf tires, blade, and NO backhoe. Haven't had any traction issues. I plow snow off of both concrete and gravel. I just figured out this year that if I raise the front tires off the ground I can scrape clean without the skids touching. Last year I would take the skids off and float the blade on concrete and it did a pretty good job. This year my right arm is in a sling from rotator cuff surgery so putting the skids on and off wasn't in the cards. I don't scrape very often with the blade because I think it is excessive wear and tear.

Take Care

Sounds good, Doug. I often scrape snow and ice as you describe. Coincidentally, I' m also nursing a bad left rotator cuff. Sore as heck for weeks, especially with all this snow to clear!
