BX24 BH pivots VERY hard to grease

/ BX24 BH pivots VERY hard to grease #11
i had this problem on the self leveling pivot point on the mowing deck of a bx. put in a new zerk, same problem. removed zerk and tested. grease goes through it fine, so not a stuck ball valve.

my theory is that kubota machined the tolerence too tight and when the grease fitting is screwed all the way into the tapped hole, it bottoms out against the pin effectively blocking the fitting. i have been meaning to take out the fitting and grind a few thousandths off the tip and then replace it in the hole to see if that helps. instead of flat grinding, grinding a V or other shape might help. just havn't had time yet.

anybody want to give it a try on their application and see if it does the trick? at least we could rule out one possibility.

The bottoming out zerk wasn't the cause in my case. I had trouble getting the grease gun nozzle on the hose to stay on when pumping up to 5000 psi so I took the nozzle off and screwed the hose's 1/8NPT male directly into the the female where the zerk had been...no go. Of course the two pins I was working with are the backhoe pivots and the zerk is in the end of a hollow pin that is cross drilled. YMMV if greasing into a side zerk, where it could be bottomed out.

Well I got the pin out of the end of the stabilizer arm. I took the BH from the tractor so I had more room to work and sprayed WD40 onto the end of the pin and started to move the stabilizer up and down hoping to move the WD40 in on the pin, after tat I took the hammer and give it to it. Once I seen it starting to come out I used a piece of cold roll like a punch and it came out.

There are two sleeves/ bushings inside of where pin goes in and I must say the fit is tight. I tried to put back the old after lubricating it but the end must have been swelled because it would not go in at all but a new one went in easier but still had to be encouraged in with a wooden block and hammer.

Prior to putting in new pin I cut a groove the length of the pin so grease can now get out on the sleeves .I must say it is much easier to grease this one now.
