I HAVE A 15 YR OLD BX24 THAT HAS A BRAKE ISSUE. THE BRAKE PADEL IS FROZEN IN ITS NORMAL "UP" POSITION. WHEN YOU TRY DEPRESSING THE PEDAL
IT DOESN'T MOVE AT ALL, FROZEN. THIS CONDITION STARTED A FEW YEARS BACK AND THE TRACTOR OPERATES IN BOTH LOW AND HIGH GEARS. THERE IS "NO" NOTICABLE WHINING OF THE TRANS WHEN MOVING. THOUGH I DON'T USE THE BRAKES OFTEN I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE WHEN ON A
MODERATE INCLINE WITHOUT THE MACHINE MOVING. CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ME WITH SOME POSSIBLE EXPLAINATION ON WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM AND
HOW TO REPAIR?

My first thought is the pivot has rusted up over the years from no use or something is jamming the linkage. I would suggest with tractor off to look underneath at the linkage and pivot points to see if you can see where the binding is occurring.
I do not remember if there are grease fittings on the brake pivot like there is on the HST pedals
