BX24 Fender Issue - Fixed!!!

Thanks for the info. My dealer said something like this was coming so I decided to wait on changing out to the new fender. Mine cracked on Thanksgiving day after 6 months with no problem. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

I gave the new tractor a quick once over this evening. Engine oil ok, transmission oil ok, front axle oil....WAY LOW. Wasn't even close to the bottom of the dipstick. I fished a plastic wire tire down and there was maybe 3/4" of an ink of oil in the bottom. The manual says the front axle holds 5 quarts, this was maybe 2 quarts. I am not worried as the hour meter had 0.0 hours on it when it left the trailer, but new owners need to check everything before use. I think Kubota is a top notch machine, but my new tractor had the new fender braces, and still was shipped with low front axle oil.

So, I'm still a little fuzzy on this. Is this a "recall" item? Will we be getting a notice or do I have to hope that my dealer will just do it if I ask?

I dont think its a total recall, but they should give you the parts. A couple braces and bolts don't cost much, especially if you do the work yourself.

where does the fender crack and can some one post some pics,I know my bx24 has an issue with the grill in fronrt of thr driver it was broken when they delivered it

Not yet, its my understanding that it will be eventually. They just started shipping this recently, it may take some time until they have excess support kits available to do a full recall.

Feb 12, 07 I received my BX24 back from Tri County with New fenders, braces, instrument cluster, battery cover frame and seat modification. They do excellent work and I am well satisfied. The problem was getting Kubota to turn out the new parts.

My dealer is supposed to pick up my BX24 tomorrow and install the support plate and a new battery cable (the positive clamp split). He said both repairs would be covered under warranty.

When I initially approched the service manager about the support plate, he said he was unaware of any problems with the BX fenders. I used pictures from this discussion board to educate him about the problem. I told him that although my fenders had not yet cracked, I wanted to prevent them from doing so in the future.

After checking with Kubota, he said that they normally only install the support bracket after the fenders break, but that they agreed to do it under warranty on my machine prior to a broken fender. Although he appeared to be a bit reluctant initially, I'm happy with the outcome.

I appreciate all the information provided by others on this board. I doubt I would have convinced him to make the repairs without the pictures and background information.

...You don't let .02% of a problem take away from the other excellent 98% that is the tractor...

I hate when there is that last 1.98% of a tractor left over... that's what happens when I put something back together on my own!
