BX24
Before I buy a BX24, I'd like to know if I'll have room for it.

With the FEL and BH detached, what are the minimum floor space dimensions needed to store the tractor and implements, assuming the tractor is the last one in and the two implements are arranged to take up the least space?

Thanks to anyone who knows or has good storage advice.

1st off I recommend dollies to store the BH & FEL on. This way they can be rolled around and out of the way when needed. Makes remounting easier too.

The following are my guesstimates on my BX23.

The BH on a dollie will take up approx 4' x 5'. It'll take up more room if dismounted directly on the floor.

The FEL will take up alittle more space, approx 4' x 6'.

If you're getting a MMM, figure approx 6" over the stated width (with the deflector shield strapped up) by approx 3'. I have a set of Axle wheels that allows it to be stowed on it's side which cuts down on space and allows it to be rolled around also.

The tractor itself is approx 4' x 7.5'.

These all all approximates and would make a pretty tight fit in a garage or shop.

If you don't have enough room, just build on /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck

I wouldn't want to cut it too close on figuring your storage space. I measured my BX22, loader and backhoe just now. The backhoe is off and I was able to measure it on my garage floor. I backed up toward a garage wall as far as possible when I disconnected, so these are pretty close to minimum requirements.
For the tractor with 3pt arms on, allow 8' length, 4' width. For the loader, about 7' long and 5' wide. For the backhoe, the depth of the area is 7', the width (with stabilizers down) is about 8'.
Hope this helps!
Terry
p.s. mine is BX22. I wouldn't think there is much difference in that and the BX24, but not sure.

FamilyFarm,

Thank you for measuring.

So does that mean you would need a clear floor space of 22 ft. long X 8 ft. wide? Or is it possible to overlap? My available space will not accommodate 22 ft. I'd like to know if I can squeeze it into 18 ft.

Just finished mowing and whilst putting the BX up I remembered your post and this time I did a measurement against my guesstimate and I wasn't too far off. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

These measurements are with the BH & FEL on dollies.
My BH is takeing up only 5' 7" x 4' 2" of floor space. I have the stabilizers up and the dipperstick is retracted much more than it would be if dismounted directly on the floor. I can roll it around where ever I want to if it gets in the way.

My FEL is only takeing up 5'9" x 4' of floor space and I can also roll it around whenever I need to.

The tractor with the 3PH arms off is 7'4" x 4'. With the arms on it adds an additional foot. I generally leave the arms on as this is where I hookup the Cyclone rake to.

I'm guessing that you are wanting to line everything up along an 18' wall, correct?
If so, if you dismount the BH & FEL onto dollies you will be able to roll them against the wall either longways or shortways and should be able to squeeze them into the space. That is if you can have the long ways sticking out from the wall. If you don't use dollies then it won't fit as evidenced by FamilyFarm's measurements........

Good luck
