Mowing BX24 in the tall grass

Go with the bro-tek stuff.
You are doing a lot of stuff that seems to be worthy of the skid plates.
They have the rear, front," which is now a mid" and a front radiator skid plate.
I have all three, now if I could just motivate myself to put them on I'd have some protection.

It may sound crazy, but you might try mowing in reverse when the weeds are that tall. I would just mow more often, as I like seat time.

When the stuff is tall that is how I do it, but I only use mine on small areas where I can't get a bigger tractor in; sure would hate to do it on a big project.

Just got the Bro-tek rear and mid plates mounted and ordered the new front plate. The rear plate was a bit of a struggle but finally went on. Needed the U-bolt holes to be maybe 1/4" farther forward to make it easy.

I also jiggered up this lame boot for the front axle drive line U-joint. Maybe it will keep the grass from wiping out the pinion seal again.

It's 3" ABS with a slot at the top for easy installation (and so the hose clamp can get a good squeeze) and has a little relief hole at the bottom and one for the bolt that holds on the (useless) stock boot. That stock boot has an open slot in the bottom that just begs for grass intrusion.

Anyway, don't laugh. Or laugh, but don't point. Or whatever...

I'm not going to laugh, it looks like a pretty slick idea to me.

I like it! Simple, creative, low cost, and looks likely to be effective (and easy to remove
and try something else if not).
