Sounds like the tractors been abused.YUP! the hst plastic fan blades are torn off, the rubber boot is the least of your problems. From what I hear, its a major job to remove alot of parts and move engine forward just to get to the HST fan.
At the same time, you will then be able to address the torn boot. Your MMM shaft should not be left on there like that, its too easy to accidentcally turn on the PTO if it int he both pto or botttom mode.

Sure hope you got it for a good price.
I have 2 BXs that the MMM stay on all the time so I tend to go along with U on that.I think that with a MMM installed their isn't much need for guards.
I do need to put sometning under the other BX with just a front blade and rear tiller and no MMM.
