BX24 or GC2310 How Much More Would You Pay?

Don’t own both of these machines but I have had some seat time on a BX2?. Don't recall if BX23 or 24. Was a friends who had it at a home in the country. It is a few years old so I would guess BX23. I own a GC2310 with a few attachments (BH, BB, Rake). I would definitely recommend the MF. Call around I got mine for $15,500 may be a little higher that the Kubota but like my dad always told me. You get what you pay for.

Keep in mind that you do not see a lot of MF for sale because people like them and they hold onto them. It is a much more capable machine that you would think for its size.

Good luck.

1*Call around I got mine for $15,500 may be a little higher that the Kubota
2* but like my dad always told me. You get what you pay for.
3*Keep in mind that you do not see a lot of MF for sale because people like them and they hold onto them.
**************
1*I would not give more for either one of them over the other.
2*This is not always correct.
3*The fewer new ones sold the fewer used ones there will be.

Who has Both?
I meant to say I have customers or friends who either run the Kubota or the M/F, not that one person owns both brands. plowking

Another thought: I believe there was a thread started by "fishalaska" (I think), concerning the BX24 "quarter inching valve" on the 3PH. I believe he (and others) stated that it prevented the 3PH from floating. Not that it had down-pressure but, that it locked the 3PH valve in position, like piloted check valves. If I were buying now, I would not buy a machine with the quarter inching valve (unless it could be removed) based on that thread discussion.
Also, one thing I haven't heard you consider (that I remember) is if there are any left over BX23's available to you.
Cheers!

I can't find this thread, I'd be interested to read it. I can't really find anything different in the operation of the 23/24 3pt. I'm curious as to what he is finding.

The thread was started by FishAlaska on 8/13/06 and has the title of Tips for 3pt BoxBlade Use. The past couple of days I Have tried to flesh this out. A local dealer checked out a BX24 and indicated the hitch does float. Checked with FishAlaska and he said he resolved his issue and if I interpret what he said correctly, the hitch does float. I'm a newbie, what can I say!

I liked the GC2310 better than the BX23 last October when I bought mine, plus Massey had zero percent financing for 3 years. I haven't even taken delivery yet! (But it's one third paid, strange but interesting) Hope to take possession of our house in 3 weeks.

Anyway, the MF was Can$1000 cheaper than the BX23 which is far more popular here. But your prices make me cry. I paid Can$26,250 for the GC2310, 6 blade mulching deck, and MF tiller. Now, the Can $ has risen considerably against the US $ this past year. At the time, the exchange rate was 85 US cents/Can $ so that was a US price of $22300. Each implement was about Can$2000, so the tractor itself was about $18,900 US. Some things are still definitely more expensive here than in the US, despite NAFTA.

Popularity gains you 2 benefits:
1* Higher resale value
2*Quicker easier sale.

When I bought my tractor, I was sure I made the right decision...
The other tractor is almost 50 years old, and I plan on keeping the newer one as long as it lasts. It's a good tractor and it meets my needs, so I'm not worried about its resale value or how fast I can sell it. My main concern was how little I could purchase it for and how long will it last!
