Kubota BX24
I've decided on the BX24, and there are 2 dealers within 28 miles of me. One has quoted 15k even plus tax, the other quotes 15.9k plus tax. I see that you guys seem to stress the importance of a "good" dealer...what criteria do you use to determine this.

15 K is a good price. I'd go for the lower price and if you had to you can bring the tractor to either dealer for service.

Where did you get the 15 K price?

Do they charge for delivery and transportation in the event warranty work is necessary.
How long have they been in business.
Walk around the shop, is it clean, do they keep units inside.
Some places are more Ag focused. What about residential units like the BX
Family or chain facility. Is Bota their only focus

Take a step back and think of the big picture.

dont know your importance of use of this machine, but 900.00 is not a lot to pay for a great shop, great dealer, and someone to take care of you if you need a loaner etc. I gladly paid it for my first one, and second one.

check out the places real good.

I called the dealer that I talked with first, to allow them to match the 15k price, but they wouldn't budge. I felt like I owed them the opportunity, since they were very helpfull. The dealer I purchased from is Moore's Farm Equip. in Hendersonville, NC. The wife and I drove out there tonight, after hours, to check things out. They are a much larger dealer, and about the same distance away from our home. The dealer closes at 5pm, we got there at 6pm, and they were still there taking care of customers. It's a family business, and the son (about my age<46>) spent some time showing us different rear scrape blades and PHDs. I was impressed to say the least.
Free delivery, which will be Monday. They suggested loading the rear tires (free)...(do I need/want this?)
I offered to pick the tractor up with my own trailer tomorrow afternoon, be was told that he would rather wait until Monday, deliver it, and go over the controls with me...I'm sure I had "newbie" written all over me.
The dealer lot had about 2 dozen of the 7510 size tractors, 9 BX series,, and a dozen or so big'uns with cabs (see newbie above) and row upon row of implements. the showroom was well stocked with a little bit of everything, the outside shop door was open...so I had a peek...it was fairly clean, and well organized. We left feeling very good about the dealership.
Finally tally...

Oooops!...I also picked out a 5' rear scrape blade! ($259.00)

Driveway dressing will be it's first job, then creating some drainage trenches, then backfilling the sunken area behind the garage, then create a short driveway to the upper side of the garage, then bury some drain pipe so I can fill in the gulleys, then pull some small stumps, then build that artificial pond below the arched bridge (wife may move this up the list)...somewhere in there the briars are gonna start growing and I'll need a bush hog!

If you plan to use the tractor on your property only, your homeowners insurance policy may cover the tractor already, mine did! Check with your agent/insurance company.

Looks like a great deal, you will be counting the hours till Monday. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I financed 2/3 of the price thru Kubota, they required the insurance, but they were cheaper than I could add to my policy...also required "upset" (?) coverage...I assume that's rollover protection.

BTW...the wife took one look at the BX24 tonight and said..."oh!...that's cute!"...I made her go sit in the truck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
