I'm going to be putting in a wooded storage shed/shop building on a new property we just moved to and would like to be able to use it to store a BX24 I plan to get next summer. Would a BX24 fit through a 6' wide door, 6' 10" high with the ROPS folded down?

What kind of length would be needed with the FEL and BH attached? Is the furthest point back the BH or the folded ROPS?

Thanks for the help. I'd hate to build a shed and find out I'm 2' short or the doors aren't big enough.

It'll fit.

The furthest point back would be the backhoe in that case. For total length, I think I measured about 16 feet or so.

The only problem you're going to have is remembering to fold down the ROPS.

Forgotten it twice now :D

I'm building a 12x16 with 8" walls giving me a floor space length of a little over 14'5" and there isn't enough room for a backhoe (I don't own one so I'm not worried about it). Here is a pic with my 7610 inside the frame maybe this will help with scale. I would think you would want to go at least 18'.

Regards,
Kevin

Morning mpowrd.
If you have the funds and room you may want to build your shed 6'or 8' larger both ways, for in years to come there be a good chance adding goodies inside, also its not much fun working on cramp floor space.

I just measured my BX 24.
Overall length is 15' 4" with BH in up position.
If you forget the boom lock, the boom will eventually leak down. Length is then almost 17'

If I back in, drop the BH, then turn around drop the FEL, I can drive the tractor in between the loader arms and fit it to about 21'. That's an estimate as the BH and FEL are on the machine now and I'm just looking at where the thing usually sits. That leaves no work room or space for other attachments. (or even walking around). You might gain another 3' if you can raise the ROPS after you get in the shed and if you don't have the 3pt hitch installed. With the BH off, the folded ROPS sticks out 3' past the rear. The 3PH is about the same.

As for width, the tractor is about 54" overall. That doesn't include the mid-mount mower. Depending on which deck you get (if you plan to get a deck) add about 6" to the deck width and plan on tying up the grass deflector or allowing an extra foot. Remember, you have to lower the outriggers to remove the BH. It measures 7' 6" wide with the outriggers down.

The 6' 10" door height will be no problem with the ROPS folded.

Thanks to all that replied. Great info and more than enough to plan my future storage space.

I just closed in one end of my 22x76 foot building for my BX23.
The stall is 12' wide and 22' deep. My BX23 is 15' long so I only have 3.5 feet to get around the front and rear of the tractor.
My door opening is 9 feet wide and I would not go any less. A 6' wide door wouldn't get it for me as I need to get my pick ups into the stall.
My door is 8' high so I can get the BX23 in and out while leaving the ROPS up.
Fiddle Faddling with raising and lowering the POPS in freezing winter weather just sos I can get the tractor in and out sure hain't for me.
IF i were you I would go with a door at least 8 foot wide and 8 feet high. This would save you the hassle of fooling with the ROPS.
An 8' wide door would still allow you to get a car or pick up through it too.
I would build the building at least 10 feet wide and 20 feet long.
You can get a car or truck in this small of a space although the room to walk around it would be minimal but you could make do with that.

The BX24 takes up almost as much storage space as a car or a pick up truck does so I wouldn't build the building any smaller than a one car garage.

I just enclosed a stall for my BX23.
1*Made the door 8' high problem solved.
