BX24 - will not shut off. How to choke?

This gets better and better. The engine will not shut off with the key!? I disconnected the battery and it痴 still running. I am not familiar with how to choke off a Diesel engine. Any thoughts? And does anyone know what type of short (would it be a short?) this could be? Oh...and it痴 still running as I type this , with a half full tank . Unbelievable... thanks in advance for any ideas...

For now, set it to high range, leave the engine at idle, slam the brakes as hard as you can and press the HST pedal at the same time till the engine dies.

I would try a jumper (hot wire) to the fuel cut off solenoid...

One possible cause is a (rodent) chewed wire...

I'd check the fuse for the shutdown relay first, other possibilities are: a bad solinoid, disconnected solinoid(either mechanical or electrical), bad shutdown timer, bad key switch. That's pretty much the entire shutdown circuit.

Also if you ever have the problem again, open the hood and find the shutdown solenoid on the injector pump, you can push the lever attached to it by hand and that will shut it down.

I had the same issue. DONT kill it like described above. Just remove the band clamp on the intake, and squeeze the intake tube to choke it off.
I had this happen earlier this spring. After choking it 3-4 times, I found the plug right on top of the engine was slightly dislodged. It seems it’s not a good “snap” to lock it, and it vibrated loose.
