My first question would be are the lift arms going all the way down, or below the point that they are going now, without an implement attached ? If they are then the proplem is not related to the tractors lifting system, since there is no down pressure put on the lift arms by the tractor the weight of the implement is what would cause the disk to cut into the ground. My experence with disk especially one that would be the right size for a BX is there would not be enough weight to make it take to the ground without adding more weight to the disk. As dry as we are in my area right now it would be next to impossible to disk the ground with a small disk right now.638 said:A disc won't penetrate hard ground with out a LOT of weight on it, and then it won't go very deep.

My second question would be the duals when plowing, back in the good ole days when plowing one tractor tire would always be in the plow furrow after your first pass, the first furrow would not be as deep as the rest because the tractor is setting level. With duals both tires would not fit into the furrow keeping the tractor level with the ground preventing the point from reaching maximum penetration. When I have seen folks plowing with duals they have removed the dual on the side the dirt is being turned to.
