same reason when using the backhoe- my manual says remove tire ballast when attaching backhoe. all BS. If i know i am not going to be driving over dirt with mower, i just lift mmm and put knob on top. you dont need the 3 pt lever when bh is attached.

I can't speak for the BX, but the RK24 I just bought doesn't require me to remove the lift arms to install the backhoe (which mounts to the tractor frame). I lower the arms the whole way, remove the top link, and the backhoe installs above the lift arms. For this reason, the MMM can't be lifted with the backhoe installed. Since there's not a separate lift for the MMM (it lifts with the 3pt lever) and the 3pt lift arms are trapped under the backhoe, the MMM is stuck in the full-down position.

When I took delivery of my tractor they had both the MMM and backhoe installed (for ease of transport) and I had to be very careful simply turning in the parking lot to avoid grinding flat spots in the MMM wheels. It was also very difficult to load on the trailer due to the MMM being all the way down. Again, I'm not sure how the BX is set up. I just thought I would share my experience with the RK24 for reference.
