Yeah..there is no way the BX will work with the post-pounder. It will spend most of the time up in the air on a post. These things are light weight compared to what you are used to.

I love my BX-25 but it is limited in many respects.

Without making a recommendation on whether a BX25 will work for what you've outlined, I can address the hydraulic top link question for you. I have one for my BX25, but I had to go aftermarket to add a dual spool valve to work the HTL. Kubota does make a dual rear remote kit for their BX line, but it does not fit the BX25 model, unfortunately. The Kubota valve mounts to the side of the HST but won't fit on a BX25 due to interference with the backhoe subframe. But, like I said, it can be done, but only with an aftermarket set up.

The post pounder is cat 1 and about 600lbs. It needs zero 3pt lift. Runs off pto only. All I need is easy adjustment of all three links

Well guys, I did it! I had the tractor on a extended test drive, pounded about 100 posts, dug some trench for my new chicken fence, did a lot of harrowing, and of course all the odds and ends around the farm. This tractor is awesome! Little upset I never had the time to try the tiller and snowblower. Unfortunately it wasn't quite the right fit for the price tag on it. aMG_5713.jpg

I think this is the first picture I've seen of a BX with post pounder... 100 posts in so it must have worked ok

How about more information on your post pounder, your soil and moisture when installing posts, and specifics on the posts you installed?

Good for you ! Glad it works and you didn't get side tracked by a few naysayers about the cooling fan......it is a simple fix if you use yours in the bush , just hang a cut piece of plywood from the frame with some plumbing strap and you will be able to protect that plastic fan ........... the BX is a mini brute ! I made ATV trails thru my bush with my BX2660 (no backhoe just the FEL) and worked great.

I would love to see the size post this thing can pound. Any shots of your fence. I just remember the guy that put in my fence and he had a monster tractor and it was dancing around some.

Glad it has worked out well. Enjoy your little beast.

Post pounder is a Danuser MD-6. It uses pto to turn a rubber wheel. Use a lever to push wheel against the weight to lift it up. Lever uses brake pads to hold it up and release both pads and wheel to let it drop. Comes down with gravity alone so hitting power doesn't change with size of tractor. Ground is all clay soft to medium spring conditions
