BX25 on Craiglist

There was what I think was a BX25 for sale on Craiglist the A.M. Its the one with the built in backhoe. It was listed in 3 different towns. It was low hours and was for sale at $3800. It had a photo and looked in really good shape. I didn't give it a second thought. Then I realized $3800!, I'd better buy it! When I got back on it said the ad was being removed, now it doesn't show up at all. I'm guessing the guy either realized it was to cheap or someone bought it right away. That would have been the deal of the year.

The add sounds like a scam. Did it mention payment terms? Usually, they want you to wire money or send a money order then they'll ship it to you, or make up some story about a third party that will hold it for you or some such fabrication. I'm sure it was removed after being ID'd as a likely scam. Don't worry, you didn't miss the deal of a lifetime.

i seen a few on craigslist for bx24 and then it wold be removed within mins. it would be there for a few months last summer in my area and then it stopped for some reason. for less then 4k hmmm something is not kosher with the price, i would run away from it.

I see about one of those a month on the Minneapolis CL. I just hit the FLAG button and they're removed in a short time.

Maybe I'm naive, but I figured that was the advantage of Craig list. It's farily close to where you live so you can go look at it. I suppose the guy wants money to hold it for you or some such thing.

Those Scams are almost always $3800 or $3900. There is some rule or law or prosecution reason that they stay under 4k

Hey, I want a 10% commission on any bogus sale involving pic's of my tractor . Wow, I guess these scam artist are trolling these boards. I don't think I made the flickr pic's public.

It may sound close or the guy will put in your city for the location but as soon as you contact them, they will tell you the item is actually located somewhere much further away to see it. Then they will say that they will take care of all the shipping concerns and all you have to do is send them the money usually a wire transfer or money order.

These pop up quite frequently.
Definitely a scam, but don't worry you'll get your shot at one of these pretty soon again I bet.
