Sorry to bother you with this but i have a little problem...
I did use this spool: 2 SPOOL 8 GPM PRINCE MB21BB5C1 DA VALVE
And those coupler: 1/4" QUICK COUPLER S10-2

On my bx25.

There is a major leak when i do use spool valve. The leak is between the male and female end of coupler. Does anyone had this problem???

Ludovik, sorry I never saw your question posted here. Did you get the leak fixed? Sounds like either one of your fittings isn't tight or a defective quick connect. Not unusual to have a leak here or there on first firing of you hydraulics, but like I said, it's usually something not tight enough. I know some frown on teflon tape, but I use it on NPT fittings and am just careful to keep the tape back from the first or second row of threads. Any fitting with an O-ring seal shouldn't need tape, just a good snug tightening. Oh, that's another possibility, defective O-ring. Hope you got it fixed up.

CHDinCT,

Thanks for all the info that's been pulled together by this thread.

Hopefully I read all the posts fully but, since you had the Kubota set-up on your previous tractor, was there anyway to retrofit the levers in the fender / seat area opening? I am not sure if that is the interference issue you described with the Kubota kit or not. That would be really slick, if you could retain the Kubota levers...was looking forward to that set-up.

The problem with using the non-backhoe remote valve set up on a BX24 or BX25 is that the valve itself that Kubota supplies, bolts to the side of the transmission and the levers then extent up through that blank lever slot. The valve can't be mounted to the transmission on a BX24/25 because the backhoe subframe is in the way. I suppose if you're a good enough fabricator, you could mount the valve under the fender somehow and use flexible hoses to make all the connections versus the steel pipes the kit comes with. Then, you might be able to have the levers come up through the blank lever slot after making new bends in the levers themselves. Never really though about trying that approach. If you had the Kubota valve in hand, you could play around with where it might go under the fender - not sure there's enough room with the BH frame. The other consideration is that the Kubota rear remotes mount inside the right, vertical ROPs tube and it might interfere with rotating the seat for backhoe use. Of course, you could move those too, but then you're buying a complete Kubota dual rear remote kit and throwing everything out except the valve, quick connects and levers. Probably cost a couple hundred more in parts for hoses, fittings, brackets, etc. But, I agree that would be cool if it could be done. Maybe if someone like 4Shorts did the mod, you could follow what he would do. Hint, hint for Paul Shorts (if he's still on TBN).

Thanks again for all the great info! Let me ponder this one a bit...I might buy the kit this summer and see what I can figure out. The way I understand it, you can't buy anything but the kit from Kubota?...meaning I couldn't just order the valve if I wanted to?

Hmmm. Guess you could order just the valve if you had the part number which i may have at home but i thought i read in one of these threads Kubota wants $800 for just the valve - a little foggy on where i saw that.

Well that's certainly absurd, if true! No rush at all really but, if you come across the P/N, could you forward it along?

Just back home now, so will take a look soon. I think I kept the installation instructions which had a parts breakdown IIRC.

OK found my install manual and parts list. First off, the parts list is for the BX7326 Rear Aux. Kit. I think I saw in one of my earlier posts that Kubota changed the kit number for the 70 series tractors. No idea what changed or why as the BX25D is in all material respects the same as the BX25. Not sure which version you have. Anyway, the valve itself is listed as part YW305-0010-0. The levers which consist of two parts (identical pieces) and two plastic covers are:

  • Lower lever - K2583-3731-0
  • Upper Lever - K2563-3735-0
  • Plastic Grips - K2563-3737-0

Again, you would need two of each if you want those on top of the valve itself.

Thank you for all this information. I am getting ready to add the hydraulic top link to my BX25 when I add a valve to operate the hydraulic scarifiers on the used Gearmore 54" box scraper I just picked up. I have good understanding of all the parts needed with the exception of the hydraulic top link itself. Can someone post a manufacturer and part number for a top link that they have used successfully on the BX25? If anyone has a manufacturer and part number of a cylinder they have used to add tilt function, that would be much appreciated as well. Thank you in advance!
