What should I go with for skid plates on my BX25?
will the rear skid plate alone offer sufficiant protection. would like both but money is a little tight (just splurged on a new tractor).
In my opinion yes, the rear skid plate alone will offer sufficiant protection. It will protect the HST fan and filter among other things. The front skid plate will protect hoses and other items but most issues happen in the rear of the tractor. The rear skid plate is left on even with the MMM mounted. Bro-Tek provides a perfect hole for the PTO shaft to fit through. There is plenty of room for your hand to get in there to mount the shaft to the mid PTO. As Stradbash mentioned, you have to remove the front skid plate when the MMM is attached.
You may want to check with Bro-Tek on the front plate. I purchased both for my BX25 and the front one needed to be cut because the HST pedal assy is different than the BX24. They may have this sorted out by now though. I was going to try to send them info on what needs to be modified, but I got around to doing it.
