BX25 skid plate

I have both of the Bro-Tek plates for my BX25 and like them a lot. Thoughtfully designed, well made and much more stout than I thought they would be. The only problem I had with putting them on was getting the rear tractor frame bolts back in as the frame shifted a tad when I removed the bolts.
You remove the front plate when a MMM more deck is on, but it's easy to do.
Richard is an easy guy to do business with!

will the rear skid plate alone offer sufficiant protection. would like both but money is a little tight (just splurged on a new tractor).

In my opinion yes, the rear skid plate alone will offer sufficiant protection. It will protect the HST fan and filter among other things. The front skid plate will protect hoses and other items but most issues happen in the rear of the tractor. The rear skid plate is left on even with the MMM mounted. Bro-Tek provides a perfect hole for the PTO shaft to fit through. There is plenty of room for your hand to get in there to mount the shaft to the mid PTO. As Stradbash mentioned, you have to remove the front skid plate when the MMM is attached.

OK Tod, I will disagree somewhat with you on this one. :( I had just the rear and had a few branches go in from the front and head back that way. None went in the fan but it was close. I made my own front skid plate but also have the rear Bro-tek.

You may want to check with Bro-Tek on the front plate. I purchased both for my BX25 and the front one needed to be cut because the HST pedal assy is different than the BX24. They may have this sorted out by now though. I was going to try to send them info on what needs to be modified, but I got around to doing it.

Cheers,

I bought both skid plates and the tractor early this spring and did not have to make any modifications to the skid plates. I did check for pedal interference. There was none.

Cheers,

I also purchased the front and rear Bro-Tek skidplates for my BX25 last September. I sent pictures with measurements to Richard of the modification I made to the front skidplate to accomodate the HST pedal assembly. I will bet that Richard has made the necessary modifications to the skidplate for future BX25 customers.

Richard is great to work with, and I find his products top notch!
