Tractor
Kubota L3800dt
After owning the the bx25 for 3 years I`m now upgrading to the L 3800

I would like to thank everyone here that helps people out with the big decision of buying a tractor with all their timely advice and discussions it really helped my decision on what type and model of tractor to buy.
My decision was to go big as this was my original mistake and really define the type of work I`d be doing.
I decided on the standard over the hst after much research and debate. I tried out the neighbors tractor and liked the shift over the hst
as I plan to do alot of woods work rather than field work.
I`m going with the quick disconnect loader and the kubota backhoe with thumb, for now but am interested in a wood-chipper in the future.
Currently I`m counting all the big and I mean big rocks that are on my dig list not to mention a long list of stumps and logs to drag out of the woods.

Like a kid waiting for xmas morning, can`t wait for the delivery!!!!

another jerky hitch customer...................Enjoy

And for the love of god dont get a Gear drive, HST is so nice. i cant imagine having to shift and when using the BH you can move your self from the rear seat without getting off the machine.

I would not have bought a tractor if it was gear drive, Hst is so nice for little adjustments. You can get work done 3x faster vs GEAR

But thats my thoughts on it HST FTW

Nice post.

Some of us 3800 owners don't have the jerky thing, which seems to be over blown.

And some of us like gear drive. I would not buy a HST, just don't care for that type of trans...

Sorry but the 3x faster is complete BS.
With my gear drive, I just use the backhoe to push myself ahead. No need to get off the machine every time.

I can push my self with the backhoe also but you cant get very far.

ok maybe not 3x faster but at least twice as fast.

I have tested every L series tractor my dealer has and thats like 15 machines, they all jerk with a attachment on the 3 point, every single one of them

What is not to like about HST

Bluegill and joker, for the love of Pete, must every thread become a battle over HST and gears?

LeitchesCreekbx25, congrats and enjoy your new machine. Give us some feedback on your choice and pictures of your tractor at work.
