I don't know, but that may be a trip to the dealer unless you get a shop manual and are good at wrenching...sorry about the broken tractor. What were you doing?

Btw, the moderator should move this thread under Kubota "owning/operating"

I was using a Woods tsg 50 stump grinder. Not covered under insurance.....

I take it there was no slip clutch between the tractor and stump grinder..? OUCH

not trying to be a smart Alec -

but- a good used 50+ hp 2 wheel drive utility tractor will probably be less expensive to get you up and stump grinding again- than the fix for that bx will cost???

that tsg grinder has some easily to be misunderstood specs Product Details

at the top it lists tractor hp range of 50- 100 hp
- under general lists tractor engine power between 15-50 hp

also the notation of being compatible with a cat 2 hitch

It looks like that size of Woods stump grinder is a recipe for the destruction of any bx pto

especially if there is no slip clutch.. jmo

Hopefully the bx can be fixed , without major expense- or you are mechanically inclined and or have a friend that is good at working on these new Kubotas.

Good Luck- and your tractor will be good as new once fixed

but after reading the Woods specs- can't recommend running a tsg 50 on any bx series

I agree, that is an awfully big implement to be running with a BX. I wouldn't even run that with a B series.

There was a slip clutch and I neglected to adjust. It is repaired and was 3050.00 with a 200 hour service performed. I will look at the specs and see if I missed something.....

The TSG50 appears to fit the specs of the BX25......if the slip clutch would have been adjusted, I think I would have been fine.

Oops- looks like the data site i posted actually combines specs for the tsg 50 and SG100 so actually the bx may be ok if the slip clutch is set a little on the loose side..

Glad to hear the tractor is up and running again.

Being without a tractor is like a day without sunshine

Ouch!

I'm surprised it blew the gear(s) and the case. But if the grinder came to an immediate stop, I can see all that inertia needing to go somewhere.

I'm afraid of something like this happening on my B2920. I don't even run the my Walenstien BX42 chipper on it any more. I use the tractor that has the big gears in it, the M7040.

No one has asked this yet: Did you finance your Bx25 through Kubota. Is it still insured through Kubota?
If so, your Kubota insurance will most likely take care of this accident.

Actually I did ask it, but the OP didn't seem to think insurance would apply so im not sure he has it or not.
